Overall

This guy is a crook. My 01 Dodge Ram started running like crap one day last week, so I got on line and searched for auto shops in Belton and came across reasonable Auto. I called them and talked to Matt. He tells me he's very familiar with this truck and the motor in it because he has a 03 Ram. He tells me to bring it in and he will fix it.
I drop it off,and 2 hours later he calls me and says the spark plugs were way off gap and all it needs is a tune up which he can do for $456.00.¿¿¿
It was a Monday and my fiance needed to have it to go to work that night and i didn't have the time to do it so i told him to tune it up.
2 hours later he calls me and said its ready, we go pick it up and he tells me that it still has a small miss to it because it has a cracked head and he can replace the heads to the tune of $2500.00. He says it runs good right now but sooner or later the heads will need replaced. Well i don't have that kind of money and for most people $456.00 for a tune up is a weeks paycheck
We're not happy with what he said but we take it home (2 miles) and park it till mama has to leave for work.
3 hours later mama leaves for work and 15 minutes later she calls me and says the engine light came on again and it's running the crap again. A few days later i take it to a guy that was highly recommended from some of my coworkers.
This guy call me 2 hours after i drop it off to him and tells me he pulled 2 plugs and did a compression check on those 2 cylinders and it has great compression, but upon putting the 2 plugs back in he noticed the gap didn't look right and when he checked the gap sure enough the were way off. He pulls the other 6 plugs and none of them were close. He regaps them all, charges me $50.00 and it's been running like new ever since.
Matt at reasonable Auto purposely messed up the gap on all the new plugs so that he could hopefully get me to buy new heads from him to install.
They need to change their name to rip off auto shop!!

Been using these guys for year...

Been using these guys for years. They're honest, helpfull, and they don't try to sell you on the unnecessary extras that every one else would. Always feel like I was treated fairly when I leave! Well worth giving these mechanics a try!

I had a good experience

I was at this shop in April 2009 after a referral, as well. The mechanic thought he knew the problem and even guaranteed me that if the car wasn't fixed, he would refund me the money for the new part he put in. This was after it was seen by another shop and they tried fixing things with no luck and a lot of money. The problem wasn't fixed at Reasonable Auto Repair either and when I went back to him, he cut me a check right then and there. I did not feel that I was treated badly for being a female at all - the owner actually took the time to explain things with me and answered all of my questions. I felt that they were genuinely interested in helping me. He even referred a GM mechanic to help me and that mechanic was honest with me by not cheating me out of any money. After talking with him, we decided that my car's issues happened to be greater than what it was worth and from what I was describing, it would be a long process of diagnosing it. I had multiple issues going on. I was grateful to find two reliable mechanics back to back who didn't cheat me out of a dime like the other shop did and wanted to continue to do!!!!!!!!!! The ONLY thing that I can complain about is that it took him longer than it should have to fix my car because he has so many clients. And trust me, I have a problem with car salesmen and repairmen so when I feel like I've been treated disrespectful in any little way, I notice it. I didn't feel that at all with this shop. I enjoyed working with them. It's just too bad my car had issues beyond reasonable repair.
