Bolete Restaurant and Inn

I am so disappointed. Bolete used to be my favorite restaurant and we used to speak very highly of it and tell everyone to go there, but it is really changing. Perhaps they got a little notoriety and it went to their heads? I don't know. I do know that I will not return. Some of the food is really very good, some fair. Their prices are too high and in some cases misleading and a downright ripoff (do NOT ever get the wine pairing with the chef's tasting menu!). I also notice less attention to detail (bringing the wrong food, drink, or improperly timing selections...they also forgot to acknowledge my birthday last time even though my husband had made that request). The last meal I had there was $550 for 4 people...for that kind of money I expect excellence, not average. When I tried to bring some of these points to their attention on their comment card, I received a pointed reply dismissing my concerns as my own "misunderstanding." Try someplace else.

My wife and I decided to try something new to celebrate my birthday. What a great decision! There is no place in the Valley that pays attention to detail the way that the servers and Chef do at Bolete. Our meal was to die for and the service was remarkable. We'll definetely make this a regular spot for our date night.
