Dr. Mandel is an attending optometrist at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center. She earned her bachelor's degree in biology with a minor in music from SUNY Geneseo and her Doctor of Optometry from SUNY College of Optometry. She completed internships at Albany Stratton VAMC, NYC Health + Hospitals, and in a private practice setting in upstate New York. She then pursued a Family Practice / Ocular Disease residency program at NYC Health + Hospitals / Gotham Health, East New York. During her residency, she was trained in primary care optometry and ocular pathology, with emphasis in the treatment and management of glaucoma, uveitis, diabetic and hypertensive eye disease, and cataracts. She has special interest and experience in clinical education.
