Founded in 1982, St. John's Bread & Life daily addresses the issues of hunger and poverty in Brooklyn and Queens. Everyday it serves over two thousand meals to hungry people with the goal of combating poverty and helping people achieve self-sufficiency. Based in Brooklyn, N.Y., the organization also educates the public by increasing awareness about meals to needy New Yorkers. Apart from food St. John's Bread & Life offers respect and support to the needy community, including legal and medical referrals, nutritional counseling and single stop social services.
