We'll start with how some of the staff are lazy. You are supposed to get a sheet back everyday, telling you if you're child ate all their food, how many times they had a wet/soiled diaper, I got that paper for the first week and then it stopped. When my son first started going, I would always send a sippy cup with him and would barely get it back. One day when my husband picked him up, a sippy cup that was missing for over a week was given to my son, with MOLDED, ROTTING milk inside. I threw the cup away and decided that from then on i would send him with a small water bottle since they can not simply rinse out a cup.

next: safety. There is a small set of stairs that have no rail. They have a backyard playground with a less than 2 foot tall initial wooden house gate (that my son has easily knocked over as well as other kids) and then a gate that is taller however not tall/secured enough for my 3 year old son to not be able to open. He has opened this gate several times and I have gotten complaints about it. --IF a 3 year old can open a gate, then I think it's time for a better gate.--if a kid gets out of the gate the street is not very far from there. Also, when I picked him up on his last day there, there was a baby girl at that 2nd gate and we watched in our car to see how long it would take the teachers to notice--about 4 minutes. although that child could not possibly open the gate, any person with ill intentions off the street could easily snatch a kid from there when it takes minutes for someone to notice a child is at the gate.

Last: lack of communication. Communication to these people means mostly complaining about your child. My son is a very hyper child who is curious who JUST TURNED 3. He was only in the preschool area for about 1 month prior to them expelling him with no warning to us. The reason for expulsion is: he is a danger to himself. How is he a danger to himself?- He requires supervision. How else?- He can not use the restroom by himself-they left him in the bathroom alone and when they opened the door he had his hands in toilet. How else? He is able to open a gate, and likes to open doors and climb on unsecured or unbarred windows. Basically he is a danger to himself because of the lack of security and safety and he needs to be watched which is what we pay daycares to do!!!!! On 7/29/13, my husband came home with 3 incident reports: one dated 7/19, one dated 7/23 and one dated 7/29 with the complaints they have been giving us-why did I get these all in one day when it was so serious to put it on paper?! On 7/30 when I went to drop him off I was pulled downstairs by the owners and was advised that that was his last day there due to the amount of supervision my son needs, they were actually complaining about having to watch my son! I was highly upset that a previous notice or warning of expulsion had not been given, and I had less than 24 hours to find another place for him. Thank God for family that can sit for me for 2 weeks until I can find a quality place that has NO ISSUE supervising children!

Mickey Academy is not a place for children who need constant supervision as my son needs. I’m actually glad they expelled him, since I was already wanting to take him out of there due to all of the reasons above.

teachers are not attentive to the kids. My son was just expelled for being a normal 3 year old. The reason for his expulsion: He needs to be supervised. Please be aware of safety issues: There is a small set of stairs that have no rail. They have a backyard playground with an inner wooden house gate thats less than 2 feet tall, which my son, as well as other kids, had easily knocked over. Theres an outer gate that is taller, however not tall/secure enough to prevent my son from opening. He opened this gate several times and I had gotten complaints about it. Suffice to say, if a 3 year old can open a gate, then I think it's time for a better gate, especially since beyond the gate is a street! there was a baby girl at that 2nd gate and my husband and I watched from our car to see how long it would take the teachers to notice and get her. It took them about 4 minutes. Although the child could not possibly open the gate, any person with ill intentions could abduct her.
