Dental Examination
We schedule non-emergency, new patients for an initial exam, which includes a full periodontal (gum) evaluation, digital x-rays, oral cancer screening, and overall dental oral health evaluation. A cleaning appointment is usually scheduled immediately after the new patient exam is completed. This overall visit will be approximately 1 1/2 hours.

Cleanings, preventive dentistry (sealants and fluoride), restorations (fillings), and extractions are among the services provided. Our general dentists all see children as patients.

Fillings
Composites can also be "bonded," or adhesively held in a cavity, allowing the dentist to repair the tooth in a more conservative manner. It usually takes longer to place a composite filling than it does to place an amalgam filling. Composite fillings cannot be used unless the cavity can be kept clean and dry during the filling process, and they can stain and discolor over time.
Resin Composite
Fillings that are placed directly into a prepared cavity in a single visit are known as direct restorations. During that appointment, the dentist will prep the tooth, place the filling, and adjust it for shape, polish, and bite. Restoration materials may include dental amalgam, glass ionomers, resin ionomers, and some resin composite fillings.
Veneers
Porcelain veneers, also known as dental veneers or dental porcelain laminates, are wafer-thin shells of porcelain that are bonded to the front side of teeth to improve their cosmetic appearance. Dentists routinely use porcelain veneers to make cosmetic changes to teeth that are discolored, worn, chipped, or misaligned.
Crowns
Silver or composite fillings serve well in most minor dental restorations. Sometimes, though, too much of a tooth's structure will have deteriorated to properly support a filling, necessitating a crown or "cap." A crown will replace most of the visible portion of the affected tooth, closely mimicking its original shape and size.
Bridges
Gold alloys are produced by melding gold with copper and other metals, resulting in a strong, effective material for fillings, crowns, or bridges. Inlays, onlays, crowns, and fixed bridges are the most common applications. They are highly corrosion and tarnishing resistant.

Cosmetic bonding doesn't always require an anesthetic, can be applied quickly, and gives an instant result at a lower cost than other procedures.
