We've been boarding our pets there for over 8 years. After our house fire 7 years ago, they had to kennel our German Short Haired Pointer, Happy, for 6 months while we were in a rental awaiting the repairs to our home. Ariel treated him like he was her own dog! That is the only place he gets excited about when we take him there. Our cats tolerate it, (as cats do). lol.

Love this place. For Milo and Hank it is home away from home. I've boarded many times here and have always come home to happy dogs. Has had them groomed there as well and they look so handsome. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating.

Grand Haven was recommended when my friend turned out to be allergic to my dogs. I had to find somewhere to board them while visiting her. They both have medical issues so I don't like leaving them, but when I learned Connie was a veterinary technician I felt much happier. I was able to visit them during their stay and got to see how the place was run. Terrific!!!! I highly recommend this place. You can tell Connie truly cares about the animals and looks after them as if they are her own. Next time I visit I won't hesitate to bring my dogs again because I know they will also have somewhere great to stay also.

I am writing in response to both posts, doglovr45 and Lyndon S.. We were introduced to Grand Haven for the first time last summer, and our Siberian Husky had a wonderful 2 week stay with Connie! He was extremely happy, and we had nothing but great vibes from Connie and her caring for our dog. However, a month or so later we had our dog boarded with Grand Haven, and not one single person notified me that Connie was no longer there until we dropped off our dog. Upon pick-up, our dog smelled and felt of urine, cried, whined, and would not come back in through the doggy door onto the slick white surface that was put on the floor inside. It was very apparent that he was not happy and didn't have a good experience...he was only there that time for 2 nights! Knowing we were going out of town again in March, I called to give Gretchen and the young man (sorry, I can't remember his name) another chance and to discuss our dog's previous visit. I was quite surprised and pleased to know Connie had returned and I explained our previous experience, and Connie was genuinely upset and felt bad. Needless to say, our dog just stayed at Grand Haven again last week and he was back to being happy when we picked him up! We have nothing but respect for Connie, and we can see how much she cares for the pets in her care.

Response to doglovr45, whoever you are.
I am the owner of Grand Haven Pet Lodge.
I am positivity sure that you were put up to placing this posting by Gretchen or the other so called manager that worked at this kennel.
To spread these lies, you should be ashamed.
Connie has the best repore with clients and their pets bar non. Always, always, always positive comments regarding her professionalism!
The problems that were associated with this kennel were eliminated when Gretchen and her partner left the premises.
I have made sure that the Pet Lodge is run even better than the previous owner.
Anyone wishing to check things out, please contact the kennel at 636673PETS (7387)
I would be happy to talk with you.
My name is Lyndon and I won't hide behind a e-mail address.

This place is a joke, I went there when Wendy owned it(wonderful lady) then the new owner, connie took over she was really rude and condicending but I didn't have a choice but to leave my babies there. I swore I'd never go back until a neighbor told me a really nice girl took connies place, Gretchen. I met her, loved her abs was so happy to board again but when I called connie was back apparently Gretchen quit. She had given me her personal cell number because my one dog is very old, she said she never quit but connie wanted her job back so she had to work for her. She said no way! I don't blame her one bit. They lost an amazing employee and customer.

It is AWSOME and we will surely book ahead to assure we will always have a place there for our babies. And what a beautiful place. Thank you Wendy. Your the best.
