Overall

After contacting the Dental Group of Orange County and speaking with Ericka I booked and appointment and was originally seen by Dr. Quyhn for my implant consult. The staff was super friendly and gave me the highest level of service. X-rays were digital, so they were instant and very clear. After going over the options for services it was decided we would move forward with the implant. Ericka explained that she would contact my insurance company for possible extended benefits coverage and recommended that I go get a CT Scan so that the procedure could be done accurately. I agreed and had the CT performed at an outside lab that I was familiar with. The lab happened to also be the one that they recommended, so that was comforting.

After the results of the CT were received Ericka and her team had a bit of a communication issue, but eventually it was resolved. I have to state that even though we had a break down in communication, Ericka went above and beyond to make things right. So much to the point where her sincerity convinced me this was the right dental provider for me and my family. Her generosity and ownership of the issue was truly outstanding.

Upon arriving to begin my implant procedure I was extremely nervous. Other dentists had me worried about the procedure, sounds and process of drilling into my jaw, but Dr. Dang was very confident and reassuring. He reviewed my CT scans and determined that I was a specialized case because of the thin jaw bone where the extraction would be made. He gave me full disclosure and informed me that there was the potential for breakage of the inner jaw bone and what would need to be done if that happened. He also stated that he would be extremely cautious and slow so that he could do the best possible to prevent that from happening.

The tooth to be extracted had a root canal more than 10 years prior so his fears of breakage upon removal were accurate. To his credit, he walked me and Dr. Quyhn through every step of the procedure prior to and during the process. His verbal narration assured me I was in good hands. With that trust in place he was able to extract my broken tooth in one piece with a slow steady removal. This prevented further damage and he was able to begin the implant after the inspection of the empty socket proved to be capable of accepting the implant.

He cleaned the socket thoroughly and began the drilling process. In my mind I expected a high speed painful drill considering I was under a very low dose of local anesthetic. I was completely wrong. The low speed drilling feel unusually, but it was free of any pain. After a few drills and x-rays he determined the socket was properly prepared for the bone graft and implant. He completed the process, installed the healing cap and sutured the area.

The procedure offered up No Pain ! All I felt after was pressure and the Ibuprofen was able to alleviate the swelling which was causing the discomfort. I am absolutely ecstatic and I am looking forward to finishing the process in a few months when the area heals. I'm even contemplating installing a second implant in an area where a tooth had been extracted over ten years ago. Two other dentists gave me the option, but not the creative expert solution that Dr. Dang offered that was minimal in treatment. I will now have my entire family visit this dental group and with this experience I will continue to refer my friend, family and anyone that is in need of dental work.
