After my grandma was at Research hospital, she needed Physical Therapy to get stronger and they recommended Life Care of Grandview and a couple other places. I went into this building expecting the worst, but was pleasantly surprised! I was greeted at the front door by the resident "greeter" with a smile and a hello. She had a name tag and everything! The building smelled and looked clean too. After talking with the staff, they told me that the building has a new Executive Director who came in 2010, and made plenty of changes and made the building great again.Grandma stayed on their Springbridge unit where she had her own room,TV, and phone.I strongly recommend this place because when I toured every place else, I felt most comfortable with her there. I give them 5 stars!

If there was a half a star they would get it! This is the most nastiest nursing home i have ever been too,the residents are crusty looking they clothes dont match.there teeth are faling out of there head,there hair is not done, and they smell of urine and bm. The employees are so ghetto with all these tattoos and gold teeth in there heads and you can barely understanding any of them.There are alot of africans that work as lpns and they look down or act is if there to good to do anything than sit behind the nursing station! There are a few nice cna's that you wouldnt believe work there:Wendy,Katie,Kandi,Toni,Juwanna,Mi mi,Sierra,and Phyllis i pray they get out of that place! The management is horrible he acts as if he has no say any anything that goes on there basically saying he will work on it. Im starting to think there killing the people because there always dieing. They are going to shut that place down all time i see them fully staffed is when state is in the building....Please dont sent anyone you know there if you want them to make it out alive!

Poor management. I think they threw the first person that applied for that position straight into it. He doesn't look older than a high schooler.

I was there for a short time. A staff member acknowledged that they had the worst survey ever this year. It stinks. The residents clothes don't match. The activities girls are great, I think they are the only ones that check on people. That doesn't make up for the inefficiency that is displayed there. A few of the nurses are caring. Some of the direct care workers take an effort too. They tend to be the ones that have supervision. I do not recommend this facility.

They take criminals and abusers as patients there. They don't have a very efficient director either. If you look at the police reports you will find that there was criminal activity in the parking lot September, October, November. Enter at your own risk.

Where to start... Well, I'd start with the name and I would change it to "Ghetto Care Center of Grandview". You can't rest because the ghetto employees yell from one end of the hallway to the other (about 150 feet) about what they did last night, who they were sleeping with, who has kids by who.. ya..

Than I'd go right into the care issue. When I arrived to visit my stepmother, she was halfway out of the bed (she fell out) and when I asked not five but SIX, yes 6- different nurses, they each told me that she was not their patient and therefore not their problem. I dind't get one offer to call anyone to help, not one person tell me who to tell, absolutely nothing. Thirty five minutes later, the lady in the other bed said to me "Oh, the man that came in to wash her left her like that four hours ago".. That explains the livid ramblings of my crazy stepmother about a man coming in and lifting her breasts and squeezing them.. At that point, I thought "maybe she isn't so crazy after all"..It was like being in the twilight zone, just unreal.

After asking around, I found out that yes, they sent a man in to wash her, all by himself.. Whatever happened to .. well.. you name it on that one.. I was appalled.

So, I won't even get into the ten other problems with that place, she ended up at the ER today and had to be admitted because THEY DIDN'T FEED HER and is so malnourished that she has to have a feeding tube now.. The hospital had to clean food out of her mouth that was starting to mold, it had been there for at least 4 days, so nobody from Life care bothered to help her brush her teeth either. This place is horrible, the worst I have ever seen or care to see in my life.



She was only there for 4 weeks of physical therapy, mind you, for a spider bite on her hip that got infected.. just a simple problem that kept her from being mobile enough to be at home. She spent exactly 6 days in that place. Word to the wise, unless you have a death wish, STAY AWAY!! We'll be filing complaints with the state and local officials.
