My autofocus on my Cannon T1i stopped working while shooting at my kids soccer games. We leave for a VERY big trip next week. Looking for someone local to take a look at my camera, I found Mr. Gass through the yellow pages. I called to see if he could work on my camera. He walked me through fixing my camera over the phone and was such a pleasure to talk to. Only if companies out there today understood his level of customer service! He has a loyal customer in me and I'd tell anyone to go to him.

Mr. Gass has overhauled two Leicas Ms, worked on a Canon DSLR, and cleaned several lenses for me. He fixed a friend's projector. He has plenty of experience on most makes and models of film cameras and lenses, and can fix many problems on digital cameras. If it is not worth a repair, or doesn't need it, he will advise you accordingly. Mr. and Mrs. Gass are a resource to anyone who needs a camera, projector, or lens fixed. They are dependable, and enjoy the customers and equipment. They also have a small inventory of used cameras, which can be helpful to students who need a dependable film camera. Thanks to them for keeping their shop open and for working on all types of equipment.

I went to this store the other day to get a camera cleaning and I met the couple who own the store. What a pleasant pair. They were a joy to meet and work with. Make no mistake, this is a camera REPAIR shop, not a new camera purchase shop. If you need something repaired on a new or an old camera, this is where you go. They treated me like family and seemed to really enjoy helping me with my D7000. GO visit just to see all of the vintage cameras in this shop. I got a real education in the short time I was there.

Another Camera shop gave me their number because they didn't have the part I needed for my lens. I called them and spoke with Clarence. He was rude, told me they didn't sell parts, but if I wanted to bring the lens in he would look at it and he "may or may not" fix it for me. When I told him I already had the lens apart and just needed the part he made some rude huffing noise and told me again that he wouldn't sell me a part. So instead of getting any business from me, they get none. I also called the other camera shop and told them what happened and they said they wouldn't be sending any customer's over there anymore.
Not sure why they would take no business and a bad name over just selling a part.
