Fibromyalgia
This chronic disorder causes pain throughout the tissues that support and move the bones and joints. Pain, stiffness, and localized tender points occur in the muscles and tendons, particularly those of the neck, spine, shoulders, and hips. Fatigue and sleep disturbances may also occur.

Dr. Riva studied Biology and Economics at UC San Diego and worked in the Biotech industry before attending Ross University School of Medicine. He completed a Family Medicine Residency at the University of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City where he served as a Team Physician for a number of high schools and local colleges. He also served as a Team Physician for the OKC Dodgers (AAA MLB), Oklahoma City Blue (NBA G-League), and the Oklahoma City Barons (AHL Hockey). Dr. Riva moved to Fort Worth, TX to complete a Sports Medicine Fellowship with John Peter Smith Hospital where he served as a Team Physician for Texas Christian University (TCU), covering the Horned Frogs Football, Baseball, Basketball, Track and Field, Tennis, Volleyball and Soccer teams.

Neurology
Marie graduated from Loma Linda University with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2018. Prior to this, she received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a focus in Clinical Exercise Science from Cal State Fullerton. At LLU, she volunteered as a student therapist for an equine therapy program catering to the pediatric population, & thoroughly enjoyed her time as a Teacher’s Assistant in the Gross Anatomy Lab. Following graduation with her Doctorate, Marie worked as a travel PT for 2 years, with jobs anywhere from 75 to 1,700 miles from home. She made her way back to her hometown here in Orange County in 2021, & in her spare time enjoys rooting for the Angels, Ducks, & Rams, as well as being outdoors as much as she can. OSI offers a broad line of professional orthopedic services including Spine Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, Sports Medicine, Foot and Ankle, Hand and Upper Extremity and General Orthopedics. In addition to the physician's clinic, the center offers physical and hand therapy as well as digital X-ray and MRI.
Arthroscopy
Ankle arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure in which an arthroscope, a small, soft, flexible tube with a light and video camera at the end, is inserted into the ankle joint to evaluate and treat a variety of conditions.
Minimally Invasive Surgery
Unicompartmental knee replacement is a minimally invasive surgery in which only the damaged compartment of the knee is replaced with an implant. It is also called a partial knee replacement.

Hip Replacement

The institute performs the most hip and knee replacement surgeries in California.

Occupational Therapy
Diane has over 30 years of experience treating upper extremity conditions including: fractures, arthritis, nerve and tendon injuries, burns. She graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1979 with a BS degree in Occupational Therapy. She worked at an outpatient clinic in Gary, Indiana after college, being exposed to patients with a variety of industrial and traumatic hand injuries and became interested in pursuing hand therapy. She was one of the first therapists to pass the Hand Therapy Certification Examination in 1990 and has attended numerous conferences on therapy for the hand and upper extremity. She likes the close communication with the physicians at OSI which helps to promote improved patient care. In her spare time she enjoys yoga, training her dog, quilting and crafts, camping and traveling with her family.

She has attended numerous continuing education courses to further broaden her manual therapy skill set and utilize evidence based practice to improve patient quality of life. Jennifer has extensive experience treating patients with a wide variety of diagnoses, including post operative conditions, complex spinal disorders, and conservative management of orthopedic conditions. Jennifer is a graduate of Chapman University, receiving her Master of Physical Therapy in 2001. She graduated with High Honors from Whittier College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education and Recreation- Pre Physical Therapy Emphasis. She values spending time with her family and enjoys watersports, boating, and tennis.
