Some food sensitivities can worsen eczema, and it is often linked to asthma and hay fever. Antihistamines do not control itching because histamine is not responsible for eczema’s itch.

Allergies
Hypersensitivity to local anesthetics is rare but could be diagnosed through allergy testing. During the test, we lightly prick the skin on the arm with a plastic applicator that contains a tiny amount of anesthesia. Sensitivity typically results in a raised, red, itchy spot after about 15 minutes.
