Overall
Dont be fooled by the name - no gold in this burger joint

Dont let the business name or the description "gourmet hamburgers" fool you, nothing is further from the truth.

We walked up the the restuarant and were told the wait was fifteen minutes. Not an unusual wait time for a restuarant but this was a burger joint. In any event we stood outside because the bench waiting area (outside) would only hold about four small butts. We were inches from diners who were eating outside under the one heat lamp that serviced 6 or so table that were inches from the parkinglot. While those diners enjoyed their meal with the free exhaust we waited. Finally our name was called and we we ushed to a very small table that was inches from the next set of customers. The place was crowded as it was very small and it was loud like a elementary school cafeterias. I dont know which was louder the people talking, babies screaming or the God aweful music the restuarant was playing too loudly on their swapmeet speaker system.

Against better judgement we sat down. The waitress was friendly and handed us our menus. While I dont mind paying for a good meal, I noticed that the prices were rather high; OK they very, very high for a hamburger. For Christ's sake there is nothing special about a hamburger unless its make with Kobe beef; and this place was not serving it. Anyhow we ordered and waiting... and waited..... and waited... and waited. I am sure a couple of my birthdays passed while we waited too. I could see the two people in the kitchen cooking our meal. I could not inmagine what was taking so long to make a hamburger; maybe they were reading how too I dont know for sure. While we waiterd we noticed an unusual site... 3 seperate customers complained that their hamburgers not being what they ordered - HOW HARD CAN IT BE TO COOK A HAMBERGER; my six year old can do it. I have seen orderes returned before but not so many in so short a time. As the circus went on our order finally came.

About the portions, I only wished I had brough a magnifying glass so that I could locater the meat amongst all the side crap that was piled on the burger. Finally I was able to locate it it and it was the size of a silver dollar & about an inch or so thick and overdone. Needless to say it tasted just like McDonalds, no better no worse. The fries were greasy and soggy and appeared to have been placed in the refrigerator before being brought to our tabel. We hurried through and our meal and left.

If you are thinking abvout coming here....don't. Go to McDonalds or Dennys down the street and save yourself some money. If you are going to go be sure to bring your credit card and a loan app because you may need it depending on what you order.

Eureka Burger has done to burgers what California Pizza Kitchen did to pizza ... turned it feminine and a bit limp writsted.

While I can't tell you exactly how I feel about this place as minors may read this, feel free to email me and I will give you the adult descrition of this Redland's outhouse.
