Salon Ciseaux

I located Salon Ciseaux from the Ouidad website. I drove an hour to the salon and I was definitely not disappointed! Arlene was fantastic! I was making a huge change and cutting my hair really short. She was patient with me and extremely knowledgable. So patient, that when I called her the morning after my cut and explained I wanted to go shorter and I was not loving the cut I had asked for the day before, she fit me in that same day and tweeked my cut (at no additional fee) to a cut I absolutely love!

Highly highly recommend!

Best cut EVER!

Went there for the Ouidad Cut. Might have been different if I had seen Arlene, but I saw Cathy. First one was pretty good. I had suffered some hairloss due to health reasons and when I went back told her my (already fine) hair was thinner now and I didn't want any carving and slicing done this time, she insisted it still needed it (it's more expensive than a regular cut) and the ends of my hair looked see through and shredded. I had tried to schedule with Arlene and someone called me to put me on the spot and ask why I had not scheduled with Cathy when I was Cathy's client, it was awkward so I just stopped going.

As for pricing, the prices are posted on the website, so you should know what you are getting into when you go....that is if you stick to your guns as they will try to get you to do other things once they have you in the chair and NOTHING IS FREE people. Many salons offer a price for cut and color or roots and highlights - not this salon, there is no benefit to doing multiple services there at once - everything is a la carte and they tally you up at the end for each and every thing you had done, so it is very easy to have a haircut and color with highlights and spend $200+. One of the times I went the girl cashing me out indicated a charge for misc services when I asked for a price breakdown, to this day I have no idea what that was for.

Cathy's prices are higher, but I am not sure why, with the exception of the bad haircut I got everything else was done by the assistant. The assistant mixed the color, applied it, washed it out and blew my hair out and I paid for Cathy's time even though she had 3 other customers there at the same time as me so I was done mostly by the assistant and don't feel she was attentive due to booking so many people at once. She is usually rushing from chair to chair. And for her prices, I would like to be treated as if I am more important than a rush job.

This is just my observation of other reviews, but I noticed that when this salon had consistent great reviews it was when stylists were there who no longer work there now (Ryan or Shelly, for example).

Overall, the salon is pleasant enough, but it can be pricey and if going for a Ouidad cut you might try Arlene, her reviews are better but like I said I never had the oppty to have her cut my hair.

Best salon I've ever been to. The staff is welcoming and friendly. Debby Campbell does amazing things with curly hair, and she always suggests the best products to use. I've been coming here for years, and I'll never go to another salon!
