Beverly Police Department is an organization of professional men and women who provide law enforcement services to the citizens of Beverly, Mass. The department s community policing partnership includes individual citizens, neighborhood groups, government agencies, private businesses and the police. Its functions include citizens survey, crime analysis, formal program evaluations and neighborhood meetings. The department s crime analysis unit reviews and analyzes information, including crime reports, calls for service, arrest reports, and other pertinent information. In addition, the crime analysis unit identifies crime patterns, hot spots and trends, and also provides patrol men and detectives with information necessary to identify criminal offenders. The criminal investigation division of the Beverly Police Department provides investigative services to the citizens of the community. Its traffic department investigates fatal and serious motor accidents, and also conducts noncriminal motor vehicle hearings with the Salem District Court.
