The therapy after total knee replacement is long and difficult, yet Nicole and Ermano took excellent care to allow me to recover completely. There is a protocol for every session that sequentially brings the patient to the fullest range of motion possible. The facility is only two years old and immaculate, so well appointed, and efficiently run. The assistants are most personable and do everything they can to give assistance and comfort.

I highly recommend this business and as proof, I am going there again this summer after knee replacement on the second limb.

The goal of rehabilitation after stroke is to teach you to become as independent as possible. The keystone to stroke rehabilitation is reteaching the brain to do the functions that have been affected by the stroke. The brain has an incredible ability to retrain a different area of the brain to take over the functions of the brain that have been lost due to the stroke. This is called neuroplasticity. “Neuro” refers to the brain cells and “plasticity” refers to the pliable nature of different brain cells to take over lost functions. With rehabilitation, brain cells regenerate, re-establish, and rearrange the needed brain circuits to resume lost functions despite the original cells and pathways having been damaged by the stroke. The brain effectively compensates for the dead or damaged brain cells. Ermanno Costabile, PT, OCS, has been a physical therapist for over 30 years. He graduated from Fordham University with a BS degree in biology in 1985. He received his Physical Therapy Degree from The University of Maryland at Baltimore in 1987. Since graduating, he has worked in outpatient physical therapy, both as a staff physical therapist, as well as a manager of multiple clinics. In 1996, he became an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS), a prestigious specialty recognized within the American Physical Therapy Association. Ermanno’s specialties include treating patients with joint replacement, treating patients with sports injuries, treating patients with foot/ ankle dysfunction including video gait analysis and custom foot orthotic fabrication, treating patients with balance issues and fall prevention, treating patients with fibromyalgia/chronic pain and tmj dysfunction/cervical headaches.
