Liz qualified in 1995 with BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy from Brunel University College. She worked in the NHS specialising in Neurology from 1998. From September 2004 to date she has worked at the University of Birmingham as a Clinical Tutor, both supporting students and their educators on placement and teaching elements of Neurological Rehabilitation to BSc and MSc entry level students. These include: mobilisations of joints, manipulations of joints, soft tissue massage and effleurage, muscle energy techniques (MET), and cranial osteopathy. MRI
The imaging facilities presently include two open MRI scanners in a purpose built extension which is the only facility of its kind in Europe. The first MR scanner is a high field, (1.5T) with a particularly wide bore which means that it is suitable for larger patients, and can provide particularly detailed images, for example neuro-imaging. The other machine is a mid field C shaped magnet, open on three sides, but with very high image quality and capable of the full range of examinations, including dynamic orthopaedic studies.

Karen has completed basic and advanced Bobath training and now uses a variety of approaches to optimise a patient`s ability to reach their goals. Karen has developed a particular interest in hydrotherapy with an aquatic therapy qualification specialising in neurological conditions and has refined these skills in many years of leading hydrotherapy sessions.
Neuro Rehabilitation
Emma is Advanced Bobath trained and is also trained in hydrotherapy. As well as using the Bobath Concept in her assessment and treatment of clients Emma draws on other experiences and concepts to ensure that treatment is tailored to each individual and their goals. She currently works part time in private practice and part time at a specialist Spinal Injury and Neuro Rehabilitation hospital in Buckinghamshire where she treats people in the hydrotherapy pool and on land.
