The Long Company is an independent bakers co-operative dedicated to assisting its members and clients in the management of every facet of their bakery operations and to its managing of profitability. Its mission is to provide cost effective solutions and a forum for exchanging ideas to improve the overall operations of its clients by promoting changes necessary to ensure future growth and profitability. Its members range from family-owned bakeries to multi-plant corporations. Long s consultants observe industry-wide technical developments to determine what works favorably, and provide services such as: manufacturing and engineering; technical; purchasing; market and sales; human resources; distribution and logistics; and financial cost management. In 1908, Long's fraternity of clients began the manufacturing and marketing of their own brand- Holsum - easily the most recognized brand name in the baking industry today. The Long Company is headquartered in Chicago, Ill.
