Canyon Cottage Restaurant

I can't believe how good the sandwiches are at this little hole in the wall. I pass through Reche Canyon once or twice a week for work and the Canyon Cottage Restaurant sits next to a little market. Boy was I surprised by the flavor of their pastrami sandwich... Honestly, this was the best pastrami sandwich I've ever had! They toast all of their sandwiches...they also have pizza baked in a wood stove, but I haven't tried it yet. Another plus is that they serve VERY large mugs of beer (24 ounces) and they have quite a selection on tap.



As for ambiance, you wouldn't expect it from the outside, but it is nice and comfortable indoors. It is decorated in darkish colors - sort of an old bar style place. It must be a local favorite - there are tons of dollar bills stapled to the walls with individual messages. I highly recommend this place. Word of warning, however, they sometimes close pretty early so it is best to call ahead!
