Teeth Cleaning
As a general rule, it is imperative to brush your teeth properly at least twice a day, and floss daily. An over the counter mouth rinse is helpful to flush away bacteria that cause gingivitis and tooth decay. We will demonstrate proper brushing and flossing techniques when we perform dental cleanings, and will help you determine which of the hundreds of dental products offered in stores will help you most.
Dental Sealants
Dental sealants play a huge role in preventing the formation of decay on the biting surfaces of your chewing teeth. Applying a dental sealant is a simple procedure in which a tooth-colored acrylic "coating" is painted onto the surface of the tooth. This effectively "seals" the deep grooves, making the teeth smoother and less likely to trap food and plaque. Plus the sealant acts as a barrier to protect enamel from plaque and acids.

Fillings
Resin Composite
Infinity Dental care is a mercury-free practice, meaning we do not place alloy or ï¿½silverï¿½ fillings. All permanent fillings placed in our office are tooth-colored composite resin fillings. These fillings are durable, tissue compatible, kind to the opposing teeth, and stain resistant. This type of filling allows us to preserve the greatest amount of healthy, natural tooth structure, keeping the fillings as small as possible to extend the life of the teeth. We use a strong bonding system to bond the fillings to the teeth, producing strong, long-lasting restorations. Composite fillings are made from inert, non-toxic ingredients, and are unnoticeable as they blend in with the surrounding tooth.
Veneers
In short, veneers are thin shells of ceramic that are permanently bonded to the teeth to create the beautiful smile a patient is seeking. At your first visit we will discuss with you the benefits and risks of treatment with veneers, and any other options for your smile to determine the option that best suits your needs. We offer a service called a ï¿½wax upï¿½ to allow you to see the final outcome prior to undergoing any treatment. If you decide veneers are right for you, we will proceed with the placement of veneers. This usually requires two to three visits to complete. At the first treatment visit, we will shape the tooth structure in order to make room for the ceramic and decide if temporary acrylic veneers are needed. After the lab fabricates your new custom smile, we will bring you in to bond the veneers in place. Crowns

Bridges
A bridge, or fixed partial denture is a restoration used to replace missing teeth. It attaches a tooth shaped replacement to the adjacent natural teeth, called abutment teeth, completely filling the gap a missing tooth creates. Fixed bridges are bonded into place and can only be removed by a dental professional. Removable bridges or partial dentures, as the name implies, can be taken out and cleaned. Fixed bridges offer more stability than their removable counterparts, and generally a much longer lifespan.
Dental Bonding

Root Canal Treatment
At the center of your tooth is the pulp chamber, where a collection of nerves and blood vessels that help support the surrounding tooth. Infection or inflammation of the pulp can be caused by trauma to the tooth, deep decay, cracks and chips, or other dental procedures. If tooth pain lingers when you are eating or drinking, wakes you up at night, or occurs spontaneously, you might need a root canal. Dr. Shirey will run tests to determine if root canal therapy is needed.

Deep Cleaning
If any signs of gum disease are noted during the exam, we may recommend a procedure called a scaling and root planing, or ï¿½deep cleaning.ï¿½ This involves cleaning below the gum line to remove the built up tartar and toxins causing the disease, and reshaping of the tissues to help prevent further problems. This requires use of a local anesthetic, or putting your gums ï¿½to sleep.ï¿½ We use a specially formulated numbing cream and often can complete the deep cleaning without a shot! If further numbing is needed, we take care to do this as pain-free as possible! In addition, we offer nitrous oxide, ï¿½laughing gas,ï¿½ or oral conscious sedation for patients who are anxious. We may suggest adjunctive procedures such as medicated rinses, or antibiotic therapy in conjunction with the deep cleaning. At times, in more severe cases, we may need to perform this procedure in phases, and some patients may require additional treatment, such as laser or surgical therapy. If that is the case, we will discuss your options in full to help you make the best decision for your health.

Dentures
We recommend use of an electric toothbrush, such as Sonicare to help remove harmful plaque and bacteria, and will help you choose the right brush for you. You should change your toothbrush, or replace the head of an electric toothbrush every 3 months, or sooner if the bristles become frayed. During each exam we will do a thorough screening of your oral cavity, and outer structures of your head and neck to screen for diseases such as oral cancer. Therefore, we recommend that everyone, even denture wearers, maintain regular visits.

Dental Implants
Dental implants are the preferred way to replace missing teeth whenever possible. Acting as a substitute tooth root, implants bond with the bone (biointegration) to form a stable foundation for permanent replacement teeth that look, feel, and function like natural teeth. The dental implant actually helps preserve the bone by providing the stimulation that was previously provided by natural tooth roots. This helps maintain the integrity of facial structures.

Invisalign Orthodontics
During your Invisalign® treatment, you wear each set of clear aligners for about two weeks, removing them only while you eat and drink. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move - little by little, week by week - until they have straightened to the final position you and Dr. Shirey decide is best for you. Total treatment time averages 9 to 12 months with some people completing treatment in as little as 3 months!
Braces
Invisalign® is the virtually invisible way to straighten your teeth. These ï¿½clear bracesï¿½ use a series of removable aligners custom made for you to gently and gradually shift your teeth into the desired position to produce a vibrant smile! The aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable plastic that you wear over your teeth, and there are no metal wires or brackets. Almost no one will know you are straightening your teeth!

Teeth Whitening
They are made of clear plastic and are nearly invisible, similar to a set of clear whitening trays. Most patients say that people donï¿½t even know they are wearing them! They are smooth and very easy to adjust to. Some people will initially notice the aligners affecting their speech slightly, but most people adjust to this quickly. There is no permanent change to your speech.
