Unleaded Group

BEWARE!



Spent around 30k with Unleaded and got extreme sub-par quality and even worse customer service.



First, let it be known that they off new hires $1,000 in free beer. This should tell you the caliber of talent and encourage to join them. It’s right on their facebook page.

Issues

Project manager would not call us at scheduled meeting times. We would get an email later that day or the next day without an apology, just saying they had not finished the work. This happened 5 times. Wrote him a long email explaining if it happened again I would contact his manager and he apologized and said it would not happen again… and it happened within the next 5 days.



Contacted the CEO Jarod Clark to complain about this and the other issues and instead of apologizing his first response was trying to correct me on how the template system in Magento worked.



They charge $125 and use “out of house” developers. I know this because our project manager used the term “in-house” developer on some occasions “We’ve got some of our in-house developers working on those”. Basically, you’re getting overcharged for outsourced work.



Completely unorganized and inexperienced when it comes to programming. They would fix an issue I pointed out, but would not fix it on related pages. Example, if a price was showing incorrectly on a catalog listings page they would fix it only for that page, but the error would still occur on mobile version and search results pages. They say they have Magento certified developers, but that means they passed the test, but don’t know how to apply the knowledge.



We had to keep pushing out our deadline for at least a month while they spent forever trying to fix minor issues.



Ultimately, they never finished up the final round of work we needed and they never contacted us again. Basically, they didn’t finalize the work they said they would and they apparently don’t even care to follow up to see if we were done or happy. We stopped pursuing them because they were so unresponsive and we needed our site finished on time.



We went to their competitor in Denver, Customer Paradigm. Those guys are experienced, know what they are doing and are proactive. Unleaded is the exact opposite.



Spending your money with Unleaded is equivalent to burning it.
