CEREC has changed the way Evergreen Dental dentists perform patient restorations. CEREC dentistry is a system that allows you to have your crown fitted during one single dental visit. The whole procedure takes only about an hour. With the system a dentist can make a crown, veneer or inlay in a single visit. This is normally a procedure that would take two weeks time when customized in a lab.

Once your dentist is satisfied with your newly designed tooth, the data is sent to an onsite milling machine that fabricates your new tooth from a high quality ceramic block. The process of milling the new tooth can take anywhere from 6 to 30 minutes. The most recent CEREC MCXL milling machine can make a crown in as little as 6 minutes.

Dental Implants may offer solutions for the patient who cannot chew comfortably and efficiently with conventional dentures, who have lost teeth and doesn't want removable partial dentures, who has lost a single tooth and wants a single tooth implants rather than a bridge appliance, who is now wearing a partial or full denture, and would prefer a fixed bridge or fixed-removable appliance.

Dental Implants
Dr. Fines was born and raised in Minot. He pursued chemical engineering at University of Minnesota, where he was in the honors curriculum. He received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from University of Minnesota in 2003, where he was ranked fourteenth of eighty-six in his dental class. While pursuing his dental degree, he held various leadership positions such as vice president of the local American Student Dental Association and volunteered at the Gospel Union Mission (a homeless shelter in St. Paul). Dr. Fines joined Evergreen Dental in Fargo in 2005 after associating for a few years. He is a graduate of the Misch International Implant Institute (www.misch.com). He is ready to challenge the fellowship exam in the International Congress of Oral Implantology. He likes to keep up on the latest dentistry that is available by taking many hours of continuing education. He currently volunteers at the Red River Valley Dental Access clinic (a safety net clinic for the Fargo/Moorhead area). In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, wakeboarding at the lake, hunting, downhill skiing and playing hockey.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral Surgery
Swelling: Facial swelling occurs following most extraction and oral surgery procedures. To help minimize swelling, apply an ice pack to the face for 20 minutes; remove for 20 minutes; alternating back and forth throughout the first day after surgery. To be most effective, the applications of ice packs should begin as soon as possible. The maximum amount of facial swelling normally occurs two days following the surgery. Once present, it can remain swollen for upwards of 7 days; discomfort may persist for 10 days.

As long as the brand of toothpaste is ADA approved it is okay to use. If you have a preference on which type of toothpaste to use there is cavity protection, whitening, anti-sensitivity and toothpastes even for the prevention gingivitis.
Cosmetic Dentistry
All restorative dentistry is cosmetic dentistry with some aspect of aesthetic enhancement. Correcting imperfections, damage from accidents, stains and discoloration, wear and deterioration and upgrading/replacing old restorative work often require advanced skills and tools.
