Your doctor will evaluate your pet’s dental condition during your appointment and make appropriate recommendations about preventative care or treatment of periodontal disease. We are able to manage prophylactic cleaning as well as complicated periodontal surgeries and tooth extractions. We perform dental treatments in our surgical suite using equipment just like your dentist uses, including ultrasonic scalers, low-speed polishers, high-speed drills, and digital dental radiographs.

Vaccination
In compliance with CDC, Montgomery County and Pennsylvania guidelines, we have modified our Hospital’s operations. We are open for urgent appointments in addition to well appointments that are necessary to maintain the prevention of zoonotic diseases or diseases that pose a significant threat to the health of your pet at this time. This includes vaccinations on a case-by-case basis. We may recommend postponing procedures and appointments depending on the situation. We offer telemedicine appointments as an alternative to coming to our Hospital for some situations.
Nutritional Counseling
Endocrinology (Hormones): Endocrinology is the study of hormones and there are several common endocrine disorders found in dogs and cats. There are many signs observable in pets with endocrine disease. These signs include (but are not limited to) the following: abnormal energy levels, abnormal behavior, abnormal drinking, urinating and eating behavior, excessive panting, skin disorders, and weight gain or loss.

Dr. Beverly Jogan graduated in 2006 from the Veterinary School of the University of Pennsylvania, after completing a B.A. in Biological Anthropology at the same institution.While working in general practice, she found that treating pain effectively was one of her biggest struggles as a traditional western practitioner. This led her to pursue learning about alternative means of treatment, and in 2011, Dr. Jogan earned her certification as a veterinary acupuncturist through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society. Her special interests include pain management, geriatric medicine, and feline medicine. Dr. Jogan loves to travel, having lived in several countries in Latin America, and she currently resides in Narberth with her husband, two sons, and their cat.

Dermatology (Skin): Dermatology refers to the study of the skin. Skin disease is a frequently observed problem in dogs and cats. Diagnosing a skin problem in your pet may simply require an examination by a veterinarian; however, most skin diseases or problems require additional steps to accurately determine if there is an underlying cause. Additional diagnostic procedures may include blood work, urinalysis, skin scraping, biopsies, etc. The cause of skin problems ranges from hormonal disorders to the common flea. Cardiology (Heart): A heart problem can affect your pet at any age although it is more often found in older pets. Many heart problems can be identified on physical examination. Additional tests are usually required to accurately identify the cause of the heart disease. Additional tests include EKGs (electrocardiograms), radiographs (X-rays), and ultrasounds. Heart disease is a serious life-threatening condition but early diagnosis and appropriate therapy can extend your pet's life. We have a veterinary cardiologist who comes to our clinic about once every month to evaluate your pet's heart condition if needed. He is also available at the Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital in Valley Forge.
Kidney Disease Treatment
Chronic kidney disease, Cushing’s, hypo and hyperthyroid, heart disease and hypertension, liver disease,allergies and skin and ear infections, asthma and bronchitis, UTI, seizures- best outcome is with integrating acupuncture and herbs with conventional medicine

General Anesthesia: Many procedures require general anesthesia. While under general anesthesia, your pet will have a loss of consciousness as well as a loss of sensation. The level of anesthesia is carefully monitored to provide relief from painful and stressful stimuli as needed to safely complete the indicated procedure.

Dental Surgery
We perform a variety of anesthetic and surgical procedures on dogs and cats including routine spays and neuters, to complicated dental surgeries, mass or tumor removals, cystotomies, and many more. Each animal's anesthetic and analgesic protocol is tailored to his or her specific needs, keeping in mind age, health status, length of the procedure, and expected postoperative pain.

Small Animal Surgery
Dr. Krell joined Gladwyne Animal Hospital in August of 2011. Prior to joining Gladwyne Animal Hospital, she practiced emergency and critical care in the tri-state area for 6 years. Dr. Krell graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2004 and completed a one-year small animal surgery and internal medicine internship at Georgia Veterinary Specialists. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association and the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society. Dr. Krell lives in Wayne with her husband, son, daughter, lovable Pug and sassy cat.

Laboratory Services
Complete Medical Assessment: A complete medical assessment begins with a thorough physical examination whereby your pet's eyes, ears, skin, cardiovascular, neurological, gastrointestinal and skeletal system are examined for any abnormalities. Blood tests can be performed as necessary to assess the proper functioning of your pet's kidneys, liver, pancreas, and endocrine system including the thyroid gland and adrenal glands. Urine tests can detect similar problems. Depending on your pet's condition, we may recommend further diagnostic tests such as radiography (X-rays), endoscopy (internal scoping), ultrasound or surgery.
