Dental disease is an often overlooked threat to the comfort and health of your pet. Because dental disease often has few readily apparent signs, we often only spot it during routine wellness examinations. Following this exam, your veterinarian may recommend a particular dental cleaning schedule, oral care routine, or special treatment based on your pet’s dental health needs.
Vaccination
Not all of your new pet’s short-term wellness needs can be met in a single visit. New pet owners should plan to make several visits to Animal Medical Hospital & 24 Hour Urgent Care for wellness exams and vaccination boosters in the first few months of ownership, usually three to four weeks apart. This will give your veterinarian the opportunity to complete your pet’s initial vaccination series, dispense heartworm medication, and monitor any developing medical or behavioral conditions. Your pet should also undergo spay or neuter surgery between four and six months of age.
Veterinary Ophthalmology
Animals suffer from eye problems that are similar to those that affect humans. We can correct conditions like cataracts and canine eyelid disease when they are diagnosed early. This is why we screen dogs for inherited eye diseases, especially since some breeds are more prone to eye problems than others. Please note that if your pet is squinting, rubbing his or her eyes, or if there is any swelling, redness, or discharge, then he or she needs to be seen immediately.
Behavioral Counseling
Animal Medical Hospital & 24 Hour Urgent Care is a full-service veterinary facility that specializes in the treatment of companion animals like dogs and cats. We offer advanced medical care, including internal medicine, surgery, behavioral counseling, dentistry, and emergency services, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

Skin Condition and Allergy Treatment
A vast number of skin disorders can affect pets. These disorders may be the result of an infectious or non-infectious disease, parasitic infestation, or allergic reaction. Because many of these skin diseases bear close symptomatic resemblance to one another, proper diagnoses and treatment often requires the consultation of a veterinarian with special interest in this area.
Intestinal Foreign Object Removal
Ingested Toxin Treatment
Ingested toxin, poison, or foreign object: Any household or garden chemical, human medicine, or medicine overdose of any kind. Swallowed rocks, bones, sharp objects, cloth material, string, etc.
Periodontal disease is a bacterial infection in the roots of the teeth and the bony structures that cradle the teeth. The bacterial infection eats away the bone and causes the teeth to loosen and eventually fall out. The mouth also becomes a source of hazardous infection to the pet as the bacteria can spread through their blood to their internal organs. Your pet’s heart, kidneys, and liver are especially susceptible to infections that originate from an infected mouth.
Endocrinology is the branch of medicine dealing with hormonal imbalances in your companion animal's body. Some hormonal diseases, like hyperthyroidism in cats and adrenal disease in ferrets, occur as a result of an excess of certain hormones. Other diseases, such as diabetes, are the result of too little of a certain hormone.

Heart Disease Treatment
Animal Medical Hospital & 24 Hour Urgent Care is equipped with the most modern veterinary electrocardiograph (EKG) technology. Our highly trained staff is able to extract answers in minutes for critical cases and within twenty-four hours for non-emergency ones. We also have access to event recorders to record heart rhythms over a twenty-four hour period. This equipment is particularly useful in assessing the overall frequency of an arrhythmia, the relationship of an arrhythmia to clinical signs, or the effectiveness of anti-arrhythmic therapy.

Cancer Treatment
There are more oncology options than ever before, such as chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery, nutritional support, acupuncture, and clinical trials. We understand that this can be a difficult time for you and your pet. We want to assure you that our primary goal is to enhance your pet's quality of life and provide the most appropriate treatment solutions to fight the disease.
The team at Animal Medical Hospital & 24 Hour Urgent Care considers the use of digital radiograph technology as a critical tool in modern diagnostic procedures. We use radiographs, which are commonly known as x-rays, to evaluate injuries and conditions which require more than external examination. Radiology equipment gives us a noninvasive way to observe your pet’s internal physiology so that we can provide a more thorough and accurate diagnosis. Our veterinarians use radiographs to detect bone fractures, bladder stones, tumors, soft tissue problems (those related to the heart, stomach, intestines, reproductive, and urinary systems), as well as to locate swallowed foreign objects such as toys or rocks.
Animal Medical Hospital & 24 Hour Urgent care has a fully-equipped surgical center and board-certified surgeons on staff. This allows us to perform surgical procedures like spays, neuters, tumor removal, and even orthopedic surgery right in our facility.
Laser Surgery
Our surgeons will discuss with you the benefits of laser surgery for your pet and will answer any questions you may have.

X-Ray
Cardiology is a veterinary clinical specialty that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of the valves and muscles of the heart. Animal Medical Hospital & 24 Hour Urgent Care offers complete cardiac evaluations that utilize digital radiography, ultrasonography, and electrocardiography (EKG). We also offer 24-hour ambulatory electrocardiographic monitoring and cardiac event recording in the diagnosis and management of patients with all forms of congenital and acquired heart disease. After our initial comprehensive cardiac physical evaluation, we’ll discuss any additional testing or treatment that we recommend. In some cases, we may refer you to a cardiac specialist.
Dental Radiology
The dental cleaning will treat reversible cases of dental disease in most cases. However, in the event that the physical exam and dental x-rays reveal a more serious concern, your veterinarian will contact you to discuss treatment options. Commonly performed treatments include...
Microchipping
Statistics indicate that one out of three pets will become lost in their lifetime, and 90% of lost pets never find their way home because they have no identification. Collars and name tags can be helpful in recovering a lost pet, but they are external and can be removed or lost. The permanent way to secure your pet’s identification is with a microchip implant.
