Valley View Tree Service

I had a tree fall down in my backyard and called Valley View Tree Service to get a quote to remove it and grind the stump. I spoke to someone who said they would be out the next day. When they didn't show up, I called to reschedule and he said he would still come out. He never did come out...ever.

I searched through search engines to find a good Tree service for removal. After seeing good ranking on Google, Yahoo and Bing then I booked this services.

Last month a tree fell on our home and after starting the insurance/claims process, I searched through reviews to find a good tree service for removal. After seeing positive reviews and photos, I called John from Valley View Tree Service. He was quick to return my call and we set up an appointment for later that day. Their website offered a 10% discount for ALL first-time customers.



"Are you a brand new customer? If so, please accept 10% OFF your first bill as a token of our appreciation for your business." (from their website)



I mentioned this at our meeting and although he seemed reluctant, he agreed to honor it. After giving me a quote and starting work, he informed me he would be needing a crane to properly remove the tree and that this would cost extra. (Since it was a very large tree, I understood.) He assured me it would be used so there would be no further damage to our roof. I asked again about the first-time customer discount and this time was told he would not honor it since they would be doing more. (No where on the website did it give any restrictions on the type of job for this offer) The next day, the crane arrived and they started pulling the remainder of the tree off of our home. My fiance and I had to go to work, so we left while they were finishing up. They required us to pay them in full before leaving. We did not hear back from them that night. After I arrived home, I went out back and saw that they'd DROPPED the tree from the crane and rolled it down the roof and onto our fence/deck. (Destroying a huge panel of fence) Despite our dogs being in the backyard, they did not call, text, or email to inform us of this. We put a stop-payment on the check and only after SEVERAL calls did we get John on the phone. He stated he "Hadn't been there at the time it was done" and had "just heard from one of his guys." The next day, he came to the house to look at the damage and finish trimming one of the trees. (Which also hadn't been done) We paid him after they finished.



At the time, their website boasted that John, the owner was present on all job-sites. That, and the first-time discount were he main reasons we chose them over competitors.



I would not recommend this business to other homeowners. The changes in price quoted to us and removing the promised discount (only after they'd started work) was dishonest and unprofessional. The damage made by the crane was unacceptable compounded with the complete lack of communication.

Valley View Tree Service answered the phone at 12:30AM on the night I came home to find two giant trees through my house. Within an hour, John had a crew at my house meticulously removing trees from my home. The same crew worked through the whole night and through the next day so a tarp could be placed on my roof before the next storm came through. Those guys worked nonstop and ended up saving my house from further water damage. To top it off, the guys cleaned up the place so good that a stranger would never guess where the two trees were. John definitely understands his craft and runs a great business. I will definitely be giving these guys a call for any future tree services!

I am delighted to get the trees down. John was a professional through-out the process. I found his prices well within MY budget and everything I needed done was done in a timely manner. I would recommend Valley View Tree Service to anyone needing trees service. He also does Pruning....

I appreciate a service that is completed by any owner of a business due to the outcome (my reason for hiring Valley View). It is obvious that pride and perfection go into a job which shows in work done by this fellow. Tree work is an art to this guy. A superior clean up job too!

I had hesitated calling because of what the cost must be. I was pleasantly surprised. John worked within MY budget and everything I needed done was done. It was actually worth the price just to watch him up there. Everything appeared second nature to him. The skill and experience was pretty obvious. I have seen others do this kind of work before but not quite as skillfully and quickly as he did.

I would recommend John and Valley View Tree Service to others. I will call again for more work I will have in the coming months. Certainly NOT just another tree trimmer but seems to be an art form with him.

Excellent tree removal, VERY reasonably priced, outstanding job clean-up, the only way I could tell they had been there is the old trees were gone!
