Lake City U-Stor

We were customers for 3 yrs here. May 2016 our RV (and several other renters) were broke into, damaged/vandalized, and items were stolen. We understand things like this can happen so we fixed our camper and went camping. The storage company stated they would work on making things more secure, so we continued to pay and store our RV there. However, it happened again this past week.
This time luckily they didn't bust out a window but just busted our door handle and the deadbolt kept them out. We went to the office to alert them in case others had the same problem. The lady at the desk was very understanding and kind and stated they noticed some things amiss when they did their rounds. The owner however was callous and condescending. He blatantly does NOT care. There will be someone else who mistakenly thinks it is safe to store their items there and give him their money. He told us he's already had 4 complaints that day and what would we have done if that happened at our home. Um, It didn’t. It happened here. They state they are totally secure and do everything to fully protect your items. I can tell you first hand that is not true. The "well-fenced in area" has holes in several places and rocks stacked up at the bottom of the fence where people could easily crawl under, "well-lit areas" is an overstatement, maybe up front by the office. The "security cameras" which there are only three, are all aimed at the gate and office. There aren't any other cameras working on the property, sounds like prime picking for thieves, eh? Definitely not a place to store large items like RV’s and boats. If you value your items don't pay to store them here.

I love this place. They are all so nice and go above and beyond for me when ever i need something. The place is clean amd the price is affordable.
