Pennsylvania State Police, established in 1905, protects lives and property, maintains peace and order, and deters crime through education, prevention and proactive police activities. It employs a staff of more than 4,500 full-time sworn officers and over 1,600 full- and part-time civilians and community volunteers. The agency provides various online crime statistics and maps, as well as crime reporting applications. Pennsylvania State Police operates statewide, with nearly 80 stations and several other locations for administrative and investigative functions, including one in Indiana, Pa.
