Derrick Thomas Academy, also known as DTA, is a tuition-free, public school that serves more than 950 students in kindergarten through grade eight. The academy offers classes in mathematics, art, music, and health and physical education. It also provides guidance counseling services. Derrick Thomas Academy offers sports activities, such as basketball and football. The academy also has a library. It administers several lunch programs. Derrick Thomas Academy works in a partnership with the Kansas City Chiefs Football Association. It supports various clubs and organizations, including the Missouri Charter Public School Association and the Parent Advisory Council. In addition, the academy provides community services.
