wanted to go here but they didnt take my insurance i told her i would pay cash they said they dont take cash only florida blue .they instructed me to find someone that takes my insurance

I leave good and bad reviews. This one is bad. Very bad. Went here to get on birth control. Was seen by Mrs. Mathis APRN. Requested to be on a progesterone only pill that was on the cheaper side as I was struggling a tad financially. I do have insurance. She put me on Nora Be which cost me $25 a month even with insurance. I couldn't pay the copay at the next visit and requested additional refills until I could afford to return for the next visit. The staff member I spoke to said that was fine. She stated they would "refill the script until I could make it in". I proceeded to tell her any issues and to please relay to Mrs. Mathis. The staff member, which was a nurse I believe, did not tell me I had to return within the next month. When I went to refill for a new month I found they never bothered to refill it. I never recieved a call either warning me I had to come in or it wouldn't be refilled. As far as I told I had time to do that. Again, they never told me I would only have 1 month more and they never called to tell me it would be cancelled that next month. When I called to make a new appt to get back on BC the receptionist told me I have a bill for $150 and would have to pay the full amount before I could be seen. Keep in mind I am strapped for cash and was only trying to do the responsible thing and stay on BC so I would lessen my risk to get pregnant when I obviously can't afford a child. I couldn't even afford the $25 a month for the BC!! So, I left a message for the manager and explained what happened. I was willing to work this out so I could get my BC and get it through them, but since they are unwilling to work with me on the balance I owe I will NEVER return to this Gynocologisty office again. I see they don't have a very good overall patient satisfaction rating online. Only about 59% would recommend them. I now understand why. Not only due to my personal experience, also becuase when you call you have to listen to a long automated message. When you finally get the extension to call it always goes to voicemail. I would NEVER recommend this office to anybody EVER!!!
