Update: Lack of communication? I told you guys in person and gave the note of cancellation like I was told to do that we will no longer come here in June and allowed for your 60 policy to charge the account even after we left the country just to come back and found out we have been charge for many more months. And as far as communication goes we contacted you last week but never heard back then left messages and didn't hear back finally had someone that still attends the school to hand you the phone in order to talk to you. And based on our conversation we have to call affiliated payments who says you (Pruter's Taekwondo) failed to give them the note and that seems to be our fault. When we asked for cancellation we were told to give a note with a 60 day notice affiliated payments was not mentioned back in June. Now being on hold for 42 minutes with affiliated payment they want us to work with you on the situation and you don't want to have anything to do with the refund and told us we should deal with affiliated payments. And based on your reply there is also the threat of continue to charge our account even after all this has happened. Instead of refunding the money. That's way I have to cancel my credit card and call all 6 to 8 companies to give them a new account because of this nightmare. Any parent looking to enroll is better off using a prepaid card for ACH otherwise you will be on the phone for many hours sorting this out. Surprised you didn't notice the kids missing for 6 months. Lack of communication? Quite the opposite.

Update: 12/12/18 So instead of refunding us $651 the money we are owed after the June cancellation that they failed to report we got yet another bill for $434. They want me to talk to Pruter's Taekwondo and she wants me to talk to them. This is scamming on a whole new level. An embarrassment for even using the Taekwondo name is this program.

Find another place.

My son did TKD here for approximately a year. His behavior became worse and worse every class he attended. They have young teenagers teaching the classes. They push tournaments for the future kids. There are too many kids pet class with to few instructors. They give out belts to anyone that pays the $50 testing fee whether they accomplished the tasks at testing or not. It is very disorganized with a lack of discipline for a martial arts studio.

Good luck ever getting to talk to anyone in order to cancel your classes. You're only allowed to talk to the Pruters because they are busy, not in the office, or out of the country. Then you start getting collections notices for missing one payment.

I'm sure they're are better, more professional, more disciplined, Tae Kwon Do studios. This just isn't one of them.

Great place to learn for young and old

My daughter has been doing TKD with the Pruter's since she was six. The Future Kid program is a great way for your child to learn the basics and feel successful. Once they move up to the color belt program the students starts to fine tune the skills needed to be the higher belts. My daughter has gotten her second degree black belt and is the youngest member of the elite traveling sparring team. She has competed in many tournaments and competed in Nationals twice. TKD has built her confidence in herself not only in TKD but also in her school and interactions with adults and peers. She is a mentor in the younger classes and provides a roll model for them. As an adult student I'm impressed with the encouragement and positive feedback they provide. I highly recommend both the Lee's Summit and Blue Springs studio.

My Daughter started taekwondo...

My Daughter started taekwondo with Pruter's Tkd in 2004 at 5 years old. She started out as a little girl training twice a week and now is 15 and trains with the Pruter's Elite team 5 days a week. This tkd school and the Pruter family have been a big reason for my daughter's success in school as well as tkd. To any parent looking to start their child in tkd , this school teaches discipline and values that will help your child succeed in life.

This is the best Olympic Taekwondo Program in Kansas City. PST currently has a Collegiate National Team Member, USA-Taekwondo World Cup Team member, and USA-Taekwondo Junior National Team member. The Elite competition team travels all over the USA and the World Competing in WTF Olympic Tournaments.

If you just want recreational Taekwondo to learn Self-defense and gain in Confidence their program is the best. The Elite competition brings up the entire program. They have a program for the little children age 4-8 called Future Kids. This class is 30 minutes long two time per week. It is structured with 8 themes that rotate on an 8 week cycle. Balance, Memory, Discipline, Fitness, Coordination, Focus, Teamwork, and Control. The children learn to process think and set and achieve goals. When they graduate from this program they go into the Normal Taekwondo classes where they learn Forms (Patterns) and Sparring. This is patterned like the Future Kids program with formal testing and belt promotions.

The Pruter’s and the staff teach with an incredible amount of patience and understanding letting each child or student progress at their own pace. I would strongly recommend this school to anyone looking for a great top notch Taekwondo program.

(Blue Springs Location) Don't ...

(Blue Springs Location) Don't bother, It seems more about the money. The LACK of discipline is AWFUL and pushing you to get the next belt. Kids that shouldn't pass etc. Sad for the kids wanting to learn. The almost demand that you sign up for ACH and then wont let you quit!! BEWARE there is a form you must fill out for them to cancel. They are high also. Look elsewhere. The staff is nice though.

Really? the Best in KC? if you...

Really? the Best in KC? if you think this is the best school in KC you know nothing about Martial Arts. The people that own this school are just okay, nice but not what you think. This school has the worst decipline with kids of any school I have ever attended in the past 25 years of learning this Martial Art. For one they are higher in price than other schools, not much higher but they are for the teaching you get. They also push people through to get their belts when it is not earned. Just remember they make money everytime they hand a belt to a kid. This school is more about money then it is the true teaching of the art. There is a much better school in Blue Springs, MUCH!! This could not have come from a parent of a kid in this school!
