I walked into G&S to purchase a can of WD-40 in the hopes of removing my PA license plates, which appeared to be heavily rusted. The next thing I know, Karl is scraping the stickers off my window and asking me to move the car around back where they can get a better grip on the bolts that were used on the prior plates. Fred came out with tools I wouldn’t have had (or known how to use) to remove the rear plate and then was kind enough to adhere the front plate as well. All of this was happening, while we’re shooting the breeze about moving to Colorado from the East Coast…talk about feeling like I had a “neighborhood” machinist. I will go to G&S for EVERY automotive need I have in the future, and will recommend them to everyone I know. What a first-class, stand-up operation Frank, Karl & Fred run. I've been using G&S for years and have never had a problem. We send a lot of heads in for repair and have always been treated fairly. The guys know what they are talking about when it comes to cars. I will continue to use them.

I went to this place because someone I work with recommended it. I needed to get my heads milled for a Subaru. They quoted at a reasonable price, but come to find out when i went to pick them up it wasn't even close. I ended up paying twice as much as another shop agreed to do it. I also asked the head to be hot tanked and they just cleaned the oil out and charged me nearly $80 for it. They also charged me $80 to vacuum test it using a tool I could have made for under $40. Then, when I took a close look at heads there was small metal shavings in the valve assembly.All in all I would have to say I am very disappointed and would not recommend going here.

I took my intake manifold from my El Camino to G & S for glass bead blasting and they had it ready right away, at a fair price. I talked to Karl and Frank and they did an excellent job. I highly recommend this shop.--Guillermo

I dropped off my head after shopping around to like 6 different machine shops in my area. They had the lowest estimate to my knowledge. I soon found out why. I called them after a week of them having the head with no contact from them asking if it was close to being completed to be told it'd be done "middle of next week" I called friday of next week figuring I'd give them a couple extra days and wait til I got paid. STILL not done. I figured okay be patient. I asked for an estimate I was told "I'll add it all up and give you a call back" never recieved a call back, they were open the following Saturday still no call. I call them Monday greeted by the man working on my head to hear they are waiting for a part that is becoming increasingly common yet he can't find it anywhere...his words...I finally get a call this saturday. 3 weeks later to the day, finally get my price....nearly double that of the original estimate. In short I will never use this place again. I suggest you do the same

I took my 98 Windstar heads to the shop, and they resurfaced, cleaned. and tested the valves in two days. They even cleaned the valve covers, and intake manifold for me! Very friendly service! I would recommend them to anyone needing a serious car machinist.

I have gone to this shop for years, they are willing to answer questions and know their stuff, truly an old style parts house. Willing to help you find what you need and offer suggestions, I'll stop here first and if they don't have it or can't get it, you probably won't find it elsewhere.
