Medical Weight Loss
There are some nonsurgical options to reduce the chance of getting varicose veins, or to reduce the symptoms once they are present. This is often the best choice when there are only a few veins, or few symptoms present. Medical grade compression stockings are the first line of treatment, and a trial of compression therapy is usually required by most medical insurance companies before they will approve further treatments. These come in many levels of compression, and many different styles. Compression stockings help move the blood upward and prevent pooling in the legs. Exercise of the thigh and calf muscles promotes good tone, and also helps move the blood upwards in the leg. Weight loss may help relieve symptoms, and elevation of the legs to relieve pressure is also a good way to relieve symptoms.

Pregnancy

Ultrasound
This is also known as stab phlebectomy or microincisional phlebectomy, and is the removal of undesired varicose veins through a series of very small skin incisions, or cuts, along the path of the enlarged vein. Prior to this procedure, the vein is evaluated by ultrasound to mark its path, and determine how best to approach its removal. The procedure is done under local anesthesia in the office. Afterward, the leg is wrapped with a compression bandage. This is a good choice if there are only a few larger veins that need to be removed.

Plastic Surgery
Tattoo removal methods have existed just as long as the actual tattooing process itself. In the past, most attempts to remove tattoos have had less than desirable results. The use of skin grafting, plastic surgery, dermabrasion, and CO2 lasers, are painful, expensive, and have left behind scars in place of the tattoo.
Laser Resurfacing
At our office, we are pleased to offer Erbium laser treatments for skin resurfacing. The Erbium laser has been designed to remove or noticeably decrease wrinkles and to improve the overall color and skin texture of the face, neck, and hands. It offers patients excellent results without the severe side effects often associated with other laser resurfacing techniques. Compared with CO2 laser resurfacing, Erbium laser treatment is safer, more comfortable, and offers faster healing times. The procedure is performed in the office with only topical anesthetic agents.
Dermabrasion
Alternative forms of treatment are available for many of the laser procedures offered here. This may include not undergoing the proposed laser skin treatment procedure. Other forms of skin treatment (chemical peel) or surgical procedures (dermabrasion or excisional surgery) may be substituted. In certain situations, the laser may offer a specific therapeutic advantage over other forms of treatment. Alternatively, laser treatment procedures in some situations may not represent a better alternative to other forms of surgery or skin treatment. Sometimes, a combination of treatments is most effective. Risks and potential complications are associated with all forms of treatment that involve skin treatments or surgical procedures.

The Erbium laser is ideal for the treatment of sun damaged skin, age or sun spots, and other pigmented lesions. The Erbium laser provides excellent reduction in wrinkles and acne scars. Deep wrinkles can be effectively treated comfortably and quickly. Those with less wrinkles and texture changes can be rejuvenated with a light laser peel, making this an outstanding procedure for a wide variety of people.

You can expect long-term results, especially with the deeper treatments. However, we do recommend follow up treatments according to your specific needs, as your skin will continue to age. It is important that you avoid the factors that will damage your skin, such as the sun. We recommend sun block on a daily basis and the use of proper skin care products.
