          Guests at The Rawls Course at Texas Tech are members for a day. They are enchanted by the perfect golf experience provided by a Troon Golf Facility. The friendly, professional staff and impeccable grounds welcome guests and set the tone for the day. Each Troon Golf Staff member is attentive to the needs of members and guests as they find their way to the cart area and practice range. Guests are assured of a special day. All outside pressures and thoughts are pushed aside for the moment as the Troon Golf Experience takes over and puts them at ease. The immaculate conditioning of the golf course is overwhelming to the member/guest as they stand on the first tee. First impressions are accented with such words as "incredible" or "breathtaking". Member/guests that return appreciate the fact that it is always as spectacular as before. Throughout the day, the quality of the golf experience is present at every turn, from the courteous and efficient outside services to the timely, polite, on-course service of the beverage cart.

        Best course In town

        Rawls is rated the second best public course in the state per Golf Digest. The course is BEAUTIFUL and very challenging. Built in a links style with beautiful native grasses.... challenging bunkers and rolling fairways. This is the one to play!!

        The Rawls Golf Course is an 18-hole, championship golf course located in Lubbock, Texas. Through a major gift from Jerry S. Rawls, the NCAA championship course was constructed to serve as a home for the University of Texas Tech Red Raider golf teams, and a revenue-supported recreational venue for students, faculty, staff, donors and the general public. Rawls also offers golfers a 27,000 square foot clubhouse, locker rooms, meeting rooms, study areas, a pro shop and Jerry s restaurant/lounge. The course was designed by renowned golf course architect Tom Doak. The Rawls course Par 5, No. 18, is considered to be a Tom Doak masterpiece. Running along the 4.5-acre lake toward a small, well-trapped green, the link is arguably one of the finest finishing holes in the world.
