Blue Dragon

My son was a student and the school was fine, but expensive. Grand Master Kim is arrogant and his associates emulate his demeanor. After being a student of his for five years and approaching his black belt, my family grew concerned about signing a year long contract with Mr. Kim due to the possibility of job relocation. Mr. Kim was unwilling to forego the year long commitment when we asked him to consider a monthly or quarterly commitment going forward. Mr. Kim is all about commitment, respect and loyalty as long as it works in his favor. My son, at fourteen years old, learned this lesson. It was not the lesson I had hoped to impart.

The people that are saying that Blue Dragon martial arts is not a good school have probably never had a true Tae Kwom Do training. Grandmaster Kim is the epitome of what a Grandmaster should be. Not only does he have the experience but he also focuses on bringing out the best in each of his students. I was his student in 2006 and I still consider myself a student today. People might be put off because the training includes not only work on the mat but off the mat. You not only need to harness your strength but also your heart. The rule to "always finish what you start" is emphasized and enforced, teaching us and forcing us to grow up and be successful.



Before I came I was in overweight shy girl who was failing in middle school and had no self-confidence. Now I am a confident graduate with two degrees and a fantastic drive to keep myself healthy and driven. I owe it all to Blue Dragon.



I think the problem lies when people come in expecting to get a black belt in a couple of months. This is a true training where you truly learn martial art and you truly get a chance to understand Korean culture. It's real, legit, and you'll learn more than you would anywhere else. I won't lie the training is tough and I've cried before. But the nice thing is your family will always help you get back on your feet and you'll end up being stronger for it.

I've been studying Tae Kwon Do at Blue Dragon for about 5 years now, and I am thankful for every moment of that experience. Blue Dragon is very much a close knit and welcoming group of people. All students, no matter their age or level of expertise, are taught to treat others with respect and dignity. Grandmaster Kim is one of the most patient and forbearing people that I have ever met. He does not expect every student to be perfect, but he strives to engender in every student a mindset of dedication. Every technique that Grandmaster Kim demonstrates is a testament to the truly remarkable skill that his life of dedication to his art form has achieved. It is truly a blessing to be taught by Grandmaster Kim.



Ignore the negative reviews. If you are looking for a fun but serious way to get in shape and learn how to defend yourself, Blue Dragon is the place for you. If you are looking for a place where your child can grow and develop his or her self confidence, coordination, and character, look no further than Blue Dragon. I've been practicing martial arts for about 23 years off and on now and I've done research on different styles of martial arts and I've decided that Tae Kwon Do is one of the best martial arts. I've done research on and visited TKD Dojangs in the area and Blue Dragon is not only the best one in town, but It's the best one that I've ever been to - which includes schools in California. Grandmaster Kim is of a certain caliber and of the generation that helped form Tae Kwon Do into what it is today. There aren't too many like him or his school. If you like traditional _Martial_ Arts, and you like Tae Kwon Do, this is one of the best. They don't just teach techniques, they mold better people.

I've been associated with Blue Dragon Taekwondo for over 25 years. I credit Blue Dragon for helping transform from a child to a young man into a successful adult. After a hiatus for college and work, I returned to taekwondo to try to regain health and focus after years of lapse. In returning to taekwondo and, more specifically, Blue Dragon, I found all of that and more. It was like returning back to a family. I couldn't speak more highly of Blue Dragon and recommend it for anyone - from the young child trying to gain confidence to the adult looking to get healthier and motivated. Ignore the negative reviews - if your child is looking for a way to find their way in a world and gain confidence or an adult looking to get healthier and fit or a way to defend yourself, visit Blue Dragon. You will be a better person for it.

Worst dojang I have gone to. The "Grand Master" is arrogant & rude. He let others run the class but would step in to correct students-but not in a helpful way. I felt sorry for the younger kids in the class he was not nice to them. I was very disappointed, Blue Dragon looked good on paper but was horrible in person.
