If you really care do not tak...

If you really care do not take anyone to this hospital. Recently once again I had a very bad expierience with this facility, which required another doctor from another hospital to save a family member's life. DO NOT BE FOOLED although this hospital has Loyola attached to it's name it still remains the worst hospital I have ever been in. In late 1995 my father was admitted to the hospital and "treated" for pneumonia. Fast forward to February 1996 and my Father is admitted to Loyola with stage 4 lung cancer and passed away within six weeks. How does that happen? My mother was also admitted to Gottlieb several years later. I begged her after weeks with no answers to be transferred to Loyola,(Gottlieb was treating her for IBS when after being tranferred to Loyola they found out within 48 hours she had Celiac). Gottlieb was giving her mass doses of fiber and by the time she went to Loyola she weighed 84 pounds! They were killing her by feeding her fiber! To say I would not send a dog here is wrong because I love animals too much to do that. .

Overall
Birth Center is bad.

They spent millions on marketing, wallpaper and satellite tv, but they can't handle delivering or caring for women in labor or their babies. The staff is simply unable to handle anything medical. The lack of communication mixed with the lack of compassion is ridiculous. Please don't have your baby here. Please don't use their Birth Center. Every employee here drags their feet and passes the buck. They'll leave you in a lobby to have your baby. They did with me. They allow people without medical training or a license determine your urgency and care. They allow people without any medical training to care for you in recovery. The nursery nurses are very unhelpful. The doctors are shuffled around quickly and chances are you'll never see your own doctor at anytime during your stay. The only good doctor is the infant pediatrician, Dr. Boblick. He is an excellent doctor surrounded by idiots. You won't get meal choices. You won't get suitable gowns. You won't get pain medication for comfort. They constantly run out of medical supplies, like pads, so bring your own. We had to. You'll be sent home with barely any information other than outdated pamphlets from the 1980s. This hospital is filled with angry, overworked and underpaid employees that pass on their resentment to the patients. We arrived with smiles and quickly had them smacked off our face. I beg of you, find another hospital if you want a nice delivery. Don't believe the marketing campaign.

don't put your dog there!

This hospitalis the epithamy of incompetence. My mother died years before her time.....that basiscally blead her to death from all the blood thinners they gave her.......she also contracted TB in the hospital and they did not release this to the family for almost 2 months....then gave her more blood thinners until she internally bled to death and her heart gave out. My mother had severe arthritis, but arthritis does not kill a person...all her organs were healthy....until they started her on all the drugs, and more drugs and more coumadin, then remikade....until her death.
