Dental Examination
At your child's regular dental exam, their sealants are evaluated and maintained or replaced as needed. With appropriate follow up care, the success rate of sealants is 80-90%, even after a decade.
X-rays
A Panoramic X-ray is not designed to find cavities, but rather it reveals impacted teeth, bone abnormalities, fractures, infections, cysts and/or tumors. A Panoramic X-ray provides information that other dental x-rays cannot show. Based upon this information, we can assist you in securing the proper dental care. Go Back

Teeth Cleaning
Cleanings should be performed every six months to prevent excessive plaque buildup. Plaque consists of masses of bacteria that grow between and on teeth, at and below the gum line. Plaque left untreated can lead to unhealthy gums and tooth decay. A routine dental cleaning should include scaling, root planing and polishing.
Dental Sealants
Sealants are used to fill in narrow grooves in a tooth that cannot be adequately cleaned by brushing. Fine grooves or pits in primary and permanent teeth accumulate plaque, not because the person doesn't brush, but because these pits and grooves are too narrow to allow even one bristle into them. These will develop cavities over time, and you don't want that.

Fillings
Amalgam (silver) fillings are a conservative choice and are also well-tolerated. However, due to their dark color, they are more noticeable than composite restorations and are not recommended for fillings in very visible areas. Amalgam fillings generally last longer than composite restorations. Go Back
Resin Composite
Composite resin fillings are tooth-colored fillings that create a more natural appearance. They can be used on either front or back teeth and provide good durability and resistance to fracture. These white fillings are less noticeable than amalgam (silver) fillings. Composite resin fillings usually last between 3 and 10 years. They may not be ideal for larger fillings as they may chip or wear over time. They can also become stained from coffee, tea or tobacco.

If you cannot re implant the tooth, place it in milk and bring it to the dentist or to the emergency room. If you can't find milk, use water.

Oral Surgery
IV sedation is commonly referred to as "sleep dentistry--" it will be as if you fell asleep, and you won't remember the procedure. A specific set of drugs are administered via IV for the duration of the procedure or procedures, and you will be carefully monitored to ensure your safety. Often reserved for oral surgery, IV sedation is also available to those with intense dental anxiety and phobia. It makes dentistry easy.

He is President of the American Lingual Orthodontic Association and an international lecturer of orthodontics. He earned two bachelor's degrees from the University of Florida and graduated Magna Cum Laude from SUNY Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, where he was elected by his peers as Class President and Chair of the Ethics Committee. He practiced general dentistry in Suffolk County and Manhattan before earning his Orthodontic Degree at the prestigious Tufts University in Boston. Dr. Grazina often volunteers his time to advance the profession and provide dental services to people both locally and around the world. Ask him about his trips to Brazil and Vietnam!
Invisalign Orthodontics
The Invisalign system begins in the dentist or orthodontistâ€™s office with taking molds to design a your trays. Patients switch trays every two weeks to gradually shift the teeth. The system requires a visit to the office every six weeks so that treatment can be monitored. Once treatment is complete, a patient will likely be given a retainer to maintain the smile.
Braces
Braces are the most common orthodontic treatment. In this method, arch wires are threaded through brackets that are bonded to the surface of the teeth.The arch wires act as a track, and guide each tooth to its proper position. There are several types of orthodontic braces available, including the more traditional metal braces, ceramic "tooth colored" braces, as well as clear plastic braces. Invisalign and hidden lingual braces are other popular options for teeth alignment. We utilize the iTero Element Digital Scanner that allows us to take digital impressions with a camera. No more messy impression trays!

General Dentistry
Carol joined the team in November of 2021 as a Registered Dental Hygienist. She attended CUNY New York City College of Technology and obtained her Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene in 2010. She then went on to complete her Bachelors in Biology at CUNY Queens College in 2021. Carol worked in General Dentistry for 10 years and always looked forward to seeing her patients that were children. Soon after the pandemic began, she pursued temp openings at pediatric offices and it was at that time she decided she was ready to shift her career from primarily adults to children. Carol is a fan of the outdoors and loves kayaking, swimming, scuba diving, skiing, cycling and camping. Recently she's picked up bird watching and has found a deep peace in long hikes during migration season. Carol has even participated in the Coney Island Polar Plunge two times and looks forward to doing it again! Although she enjoys staying active, she also loves sleeping in, puzzles, catching up on podcasts, and hitting up new and favorite restaurants.
