Forgery
From an insurer’s perspective, claims asserted under fidelity bonds are inherently fact sensitive and require thorough investigation, precise coverage analysis and, in some cases, aggressive litigation. Our attorneys are well-qualified to provide these services and have resolved major claims arising from bookkeeper defalcations, commercial bribery, inventory theft, industrial sabotage, and expense account abuse. Unfair Competition
Our attorneys have litigated numerous cases involving inter-industry disputes, including claims of “raiding,” violations of non-compete/non-solicitation agreements, unfair competition, tortious interference, defamation and disparagement, and misappropriation of trade secrets. These cases are litigated in FINRA arbitration as well as in federal and state courts, and may involve breach of contract claims as well as claims premised upon common-law theories even where no contract is present. Wrongful Termination
Our lawyers represent employers in all phases of litigation in state and federal courts and administrative agencies. We regularly appear before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and various state and local fair employment practices agencies in response to administrative charges of discrimination. Our practice includes preparation of position statements, appearances at fact finding conferences and hearings, as well as participation in alternative dispute resolution including mediation and arbitration. For our corporate clients, we also prosecute claims against former employees for violation of non-compete agreements, breach of fiduciary duties, and misappropriation of trade secrets.
