Ward Periodontics

My Mom went to Dr. Ward for tooth implants even though she was 80 years old, not thinking as clearly as she used to, had family trying to talk her out of it, and was told by her Physician not to get the surgery. When I found out that she was having the surgery in spite of telling me for 2 weeks that she was not going to, I found out that she had talked to Dr. Ward and he said it would be okay to go ahead. I found this out when I though I was bringing her to get a partial made instead. She paid him almost $10k up front for the full procedure. A few weeks later my mom had a heart attack. She developed complications and did not survive. Apparently Dr. Ward does not refund the unused portion of the money paid up front for his services. There is nothing that indicates this in the contract. I guess if it is in his pocket.......! He didn't even have the courtesy to offer condolences. It seems he cares quite a bit about your wallet. The patient? Not so much!
