Renton Bistro

It's always good to have lots of choices for vegan food. We selected Rice Noodle Soup, Tofu Fried Rice, Chow Fun, Sweet & Sour Chicken, and General Tso's Chicken. The serving size was larger than average and the food was ok. The biggest drawback was the service; you had to ask for used dishes to be removed, additional utensils, get your own napkins, etc.

Blossom Asian Bistro located in downtown Renton initially looked nice on the outside but the decor inside was mediocre (felt cheap). Although the restaurant tried to go for a modern fusion feel, the decorations, tables, chairs, etc seemed cheep and sparse. The hostess were friendly and quick to seat you at a table. The server was nice and explained the food very well. We had a couple of different dishes such as the Gyoza, Crab Fried Rice, Shrimp Tempura, Moon Cake, a couple of the combo vermicelli noodle/meat salads, stuffed Sea Bass, and Calamari stuffed with Duck. Overall the food was just okay. The flavors were very bland and tasteless. We had to add fish sauce or soy sauce to a couple of dishes to add a little flavor to the meal. The fish sauce also tasted bland and flavorless (definitely not for someone who likes a little spicy). The portions were very small. Although the plates ranged between $6-8 which is very cheap. We felt that the size of the portions, quality and taste of the food was not worth the price. We did not feel we received the value of the meal. After spending about $85 for a meal and 8 plates later, we left feeling like we were not completely satisfied. Though content with our appetite we felt as if we needed to stop by Pho Hoa down the street to eat a bowl of Pho or Vermicelli Noodles to not feel like we wasted stomach space on a meal that was just up to par. Overall the hostess and servers were very warm and welcoming but the management (particularly an early 40's asian male) was very stuffy and rude brushing off our comments undermining the type of restaurants we would typically visit. If you are interested in visiting an asian fusion restaurant there are much better places you can go to get better food for your money such as Asian Spoons, Wasabi Bistro, Wild Ginger, etc.
