I hope this review will help prevent ANYBODY for any reason from going to the incompetent, worse than shade tree mechanics.



In May of 2013 I took my 2005 Mazda tribute in because my a/c wasn't working. At the time I was working for a company that sent a lot of minor business to them so I thought having them fix my a/c would not be a problem since we had not had any problems with them. WRONG! For the summer of 2013 my a/c worked great after spending almost 1300 to totally overhaul my system. In January 2014 there was a day that was warm enough for me to turn on my a/c, and it didn't work. So I took it back to them.



The first time I took it back to them it was back to being cold enough where they could not diagnose the problem. I had no issue with that it. I took it back one day in February that was warm enough for them to figure out the problem. I got a call and they told me my compressor that was replaced 9 months ago had gone bad. The only time I drove this car was to and from work 30 miles round trip 5 days a week. They said that the warranty was over on mileage but they had talked the compressor manufacturer into honoring the warranty but they couldn't cover the labor to install the new one. Annoying but I guess there is nothing I can do so i will pay the $300+ in labor.



The next time I needed to use the a/c it still didn't work. I took it right back to them to figure out why it was still not working. They called me several times during the day saying everything was checking out fine, no leaks etc. when I went to pick it up they said they figured out that one of my 2 fans was broke and it was the one that kept my compressor cool. They wanted $1000 to fix it. Telling me that you could only get the fan from the dealership for $800 and $200 to install it.



I was tired of their incompetence at this point for several reasons. 1, they have taken 1600 of my money at this point and I still didn't have air conditioning. 2, they were the only people I have had work on my car since in almost 2 years and they had to be the ones that broke my fan if that was the reason my system wasn't working. But I know how these things work, if I say they did it they will just say they didn't do it and I have no way to prove they did.



I started calling dealerships to get a price for the fan because I am somewhat mechanically inclined to I would replace it myself. The fan from the dealership was $170. I understand they have to mark up parts but 4x mark up? Well, I eventually got the fan myself and changed it out. Problem is still not fixed.



I am going to take my vehicle to some reliable trustworthy mechanics to actually fix it.
