I purchased a Spa package on Groupon for $104 which I thought was a good deal. The massage was not by a licence person. She did a little massage on my neck and lower back that was all of 10 minutes. Then the facial consist of a cleanser, scrub, and a paper mask like the ones you get from Walmart for $0.99. The stuff that was used on my face made me breakout, in addition the owner insisted that I pay a minimium of 10% tip of the orignal package price, Which she said was $400, so she wanted me to pay $40 when I paid $104. She blamed me that I didn't go to her website and read my email regarding the gratuity. I feel that she demanded 40% gratuity to cover the fact that Groupon takes 50% of the purchase price. I would not recommend SpaKhaiYah, for poor service, and minimum gratuity policies.

This spa gets a single star because the atmosphere is clean & the therapists were pretty good at what they do (massage, body scrub, facial.) What really disappointed (& aggravated) me was that they actually had the nerve to demand that clients tip them a certain amount. I purchased a 2 hour spa package on Groupon for $104. At the end of my combined facial, body scrub, & massage (which lasted exactly 2 hours altogether), I tipped $30 each to my therapist & my daughter's (this was one of her birthday gifts for her "Sweet 16.") I've been to quite a few spas over the years, & in my estimation, this was at most a $200 package - meaning I saved approximately $100. So a $30 tip is pretty decent - the services were good, not superb but good - worthy of an "acceptable & decent" tip, hence my $30. The co-owner (also one of our therapists) actually reprimanded me for the $30 tip & told me that a minimum $40 tip is required as this was a package worth $400. I was so shocked & appalled that I just handed over the extra $10 (for both my daughter & myself- so $20 total) & hurried out, knowing in my mind that I would never, ever return. Trust me when I say that this was no $400 package & even if it was, it is ultimately the customer's decision on how much to tip. Looking back, I realize I did not have to hand over that extra money but good riddance! Never again!
