Not a short review, but I think Luis deserves a complete explanation so you will know that he does good work for a very reasonable price and how he saved me money.



I took my GMC pickup to Colonial and Luis was helpful and professional. He briefly stopped working on a car and took a look at my radiator, which showed a small leak on the driver's side where the hot engine water returns from the engine for cooling. Luis quickly took the fan shroud off to see the leak more easily, and confirmed his first opinion that the left tank had a crack in it. Luis immediately gave me an estimate, which was far less money than I expected. Since it was Saturday afternoon, Luis offered to store my truck inside of his fenced-in back lot for security until he could work on my truck on Monday. He suggested that I go to the nearby auto parts store to save money on new coolant, which I did and delivered to Luis before going home.



On Monday, Luis removed the radiator, cleaned it out, flushed the engine of the old coolant, repaired the radiator and reinstalled it exactly as promised. The truck was finished and waiting for me when I arrived and the price was the same as quoted.

I am a 74 year old senior, who drove drag race cars and boats. I have built race cars, boats, complete motorhome conversions from Grayhound buses and race engines for over 60 years, so although I am not a listed as a professional mechanic I consider myself to be very qualified to write about the skills of another mechanic. Luis is a pro, knows what he is doing and doesn't waste time getting the job done and done right.



I should add that, as a experienced mechanic, I have seen my neighbor's take their cars to dealerships and shops and they were gouged by the shop because they don't know anything about cars, light trucks, Peterbilts or Freightliners. They just drive the vehicle and when a shop lies to them they pay too much to get on the road again. I don't repair radiators, because it takes a lot of special equipment and space to work on them. I trusted Luis and he charged me much less than I expected to pay.
