I highly recommend Breeder’s Pick. Summer is a wealth of knowledge and very nurturing to the fur babies in her charge. The establishment is incredibly clean! I could not be happier with my healthy, bright and well socialized little malt-a-poo!

I had a genuinely wholesome experience at Breeders Pick, sprinkled with Love & attention!

My dog, Venus, had a medical emergency & Summer was available for immediate consult. Summer's demeanor & professionalism, including the consult of Dr. DeMasi, was impeccable.

I would wholeheartedly recommend Summer's Breeders Pick because without her I would not be enjoying the loving company of my beautiful Maltese:)

Very good

I had went to breeds pick and couldn't stop going there! I fell in love with a cute 9 year old beagle. In a few months I was able to purchase the beagle. I named her Abby. The service there was great. Summer was super helpful. Now Abby is having fun in her new home.

This place is super sweet

I love going into this place. I can't have a dog where I live right now but I go into Breeders Pick alot, to play with the cutest and sweetest puppies. I love Breeders Pick, I use to go into 2 places in yonkers but I can't anymore they are horrible and I feel bad for those puppies. Ever since I found-out about Breeders Pick I can't stay out and the staff is so nice they allow me to sit and hold the puppies even though I am not purchasing right now. I don't like animal abuse in any form it comes in.

If the place is dirty, sick looking puppies and people who you see

don't love and care about their puppies and you decide to purchase one of

those dogs because you simply feel Bad for it, then yes you are a

supporting.

If the place is clean and the puppies are healthy and happy and the staff

loves and has a real affection for dogs(animals) and you decide to

purchase one of those puppies simply out of Love than you should not

feel guilty about that.

If I could I would have brought home a puppy, I fall in love with all of them...

Thank You Breeders Pick for Macho

I walked into Breeders Pick 10 years later my BullDog passed away last week. He was the greatest dog and I am missing him so much. Macho gave me 10 years of love, fun and loyalty. He lived a long great life. When I am ready I plan to do buisness with Breeders Pick again. They were great from day one. In the begininng I did have a problem with Macho he had the kennel cough which can be very bad for a Bully because of there breathing problems. I was pissed off when he spent some time at the vets because of it . I walked back into Breeders Pick ready to argue because I only had him home for not even 2 weeks and Macho was a pricey dog, So in my eye's at the time he should have been perfect. Writing this now and rembering he was the most perfect dog and I would repeat the anger I felt then all over again for him. When I got into the store they asked right away how Macho was thinking I had training questions but I had told the the real reason I was back there so quickly. They quickly were concerned and I knew he did look great in the shop like they had responded. They quickly told me they would help me with everything. There were a few customers in there as well who were grooming there dogs and they calmed me down as well. Breeders Pick really were concerned for Macho they kept in close contact with me to make sure he was getting better and they heped me out with the vet exspenses Macho had accuired. That was the only little thing I ever delt with. Macho stayed healthy and strong his whole life and I miss him. I wanted to write this review because these ladies at Breeders Pick really love their dogs and they care about their customers too. I don't want this place to go anywhere.I don't know how many people follow the reviews of others. I will be honest I kinda dont because who is to say they are legit but they dont deserve any negative things said. I know nothing is perfect but when I walked in and saw 10 years later they are still striving for the best and they still love their puppies and their store I could never write something negative they dont deserve it. It wouldn't be right for me to try to stop others from walking in their place just to look even. They deserve many people from their past and present to write all the great things about them. They only carry puppies not caged animals, they don't have a big selection on supplies and they are deep in the parking lot not really visible from the street and yet they still remain with a ton of people who are very happy with their dogs....they must be doing something right. I know they have a lot of good positive reviews also I wanted to be the one more to say something positive, It's a great place all around. I will see you soon when I am ready. Thank you breeders pick for my Macho.

Overall
sell to anyone???

I am somewhat disturbed by the sales practice of Breeder's pick. A colleague at work just bought a puppy from them. He has never owned a dog, and was rejected by rescues for a puppy because he lives alone and works all day. My heart aches for this puppy as write this letter. I have fostered puppies and dogs for rescues and know full well that an unsocialized, untrained dog almost always ends up in the pound. I also know full well that any REPUTABLE breeder carefully screens who they sell their dogs to. Breeders pick must be a puppy mill outlet and I implore anyone who wants a dog to STAY AWAY. Go to a reputable breeder or contact a rescue. If you are rejected by a rescue organization, find out why and consider the reason.

Overall
Breeders Pick is....

A overall great place to buy a puppy. I have been searching both shelters and the internet for a puppy and it has been a project. I have been inside of Breeders Pick many times and thought what a great place. They take really good care of their dogs and they are very informative but what stopped me for so long was so many people advocate not to buy from a pet store. Let me just say, it's nice to rescue if you want a pitt because thats all I seem to come across. Not only that I have seen from the same shelter animals with chronic eye infections. I revisited and the same dogs had the same condition weeks later. I have owned dogs and I know with medication that should have cleared up so in my opinion they aren't taking the best care of their adoptable pitt's. Anyway I just purchase my pup from Breeders P a few days ago and he is doing great. His personality is great. This pup is my new pal and I couldn't be happier. I know a few people who have dogd from Breeders Pick and their all happy as well. The only thing I can tell people out there nervouse to buy a dog from a store is trust and look at the way the pups are taken care of. Are they happy, playful, clean and healthy. That's what's important. I been to my share of pet stores and those places should be shut down. They should not be selling puppies because they dont care about them. On line is a big waste of time because you can't meet the pup until it arrives from the airport. People are crazy if they trust that. Finding a local breeder here in New York...good luck with that too. I reccomend Breeders Pick they are #1 in my book.

Overall
What a beautiful place

I must say I travel around to look at different pet shops in NY state and this place blew my mind. My sister purchased her Mini Shnauzer from Breeders Pick almost a year ago now. Since then I have been upset and dissapointed with her until I walked into Breeders Pick a few days ago. Im part of the Beagle rescue group they are my beloved breed. When I walked up their stairs I thought I would see what I am unfortuately use to. However I walked into a beautiful clean enviroment with puppies playing and happy. The young women their who later told me she was the manager was sitting and holding the cutest litttle Maltese who she said was her favorite at the time and that she always has 1 or 2 favorites. The love that was flowing from both the manager and the puppies was absolutly amazing and changed my stereo type of pet stores. Leaving I knew this isn't a pet store but a place where these puppies are getting love and nurtured. I will always only rescue but I will say if your looking to purchase a puppy this is the way to go. The other places out there all over that carry puppies should be shut down and hopefully will. I am also an active member of PETA and I didn't mention this when I was in Breeders Pick because I want to hear what places have to say and how they answer my questions. It was nice to here that Breeders Pick's manager has a rescue cat and worked for a vet for many years. This place is in no comparrison to these terrible stores that exist. I see why my sister purchased her wonderful Shnuazer "Bella" from them. I look foward to visiting Breeders Pick again to be in their wonderful loving enviroment.

Overall
I love my Yokie

I bought 2 Yorkshire Terriers from breeders Pick they are wonderful and very healthy. One breeder is local from upstate NY and the other is in Missori. I did research and the Missori breeder is USDA certified that does not equal puppy mill. I have 2 family members and a few friends who have purchased from Breeders Pick and they are all very happy as well, thats how I had found out about them. They love their beautiful puppies and they take really good care of them. I would refer them to everyone. Other places do not take care of thier pup's and buying on line is very risky because you dont know where they are coming from or if they are healthy.

Overall
Love my yorkie but....he came from a PUPPY MILL!

I bought my yorkie from Breeder's Pick in December 2009. He has had no health problems since I got him but it never sat well with me that he came from Missouri. As many know Missouri is the number one state for puppy mills. One night I decided to do some research based on the breeder's name given on the Certificate of Pedigree. It turns out there is a huge database full of breeders who are cited as "puppy mills". When I searched the breeder listed on the Certificate of Pedigree she came up on multiple lists citing her kennel as a puppy mill (I have attached one of the lists below). The only thing I am upset about is that I paid almost $3000 for a dog that clearly came from a puppy mill even though the women in the store stressed to me that the dogs came from private purebred breeders. As for Lambriar Inc, they are basically a puppy broker. The owners of the puppy sell the puppy to Lambriar Inc in Kansas where they are checked out and than transported across the United States on a truck. I guess it makes sense now why he was so thin when I bought him. According to the certificate he was in the Lambriar facilities only 8 weeks after he was born. For a yorkie that is FAR too soon to be leaving its mother.

Overall I love my dog but I think it would be good for everyone to be aware that 99% of these puppies do come form the mid-west and are from puppy mills. Of course the women will act shady when you ask about the breeders because hoenstly they know NOTHING about them....and no, they can't get in touch with them they are only selling the dog. So that is the deal with Breeder's Pick.

Overall
The best place to get a dog!

I've been customer of Breeders for more than 6 years that is the the age of my beautiful 5 pounds maltese. A year later i fell in love with a japanese chin that it was at Breeders pick for a few months, best dog ever. 2 years ago i've got my third dog from them and i'm telling who ever is reading i can't be happier with my dogs. With the customer service and the way this people keep the store and more important the puppies.

I haven't had yet any problem with any of my babies, they are all healthy and a lovely personality.

About the other reviews i don't understand what is the big deal about a breeders having a lot of dogs on their farm. I'm a dog lover for life and completely against animal cruelty but i understand that breeding dogs is a bussiness like any other. They need to make money to continue in bussiness and in order to have puppies and income all year well they have to have many dogs. I have worked with breeders and bred dogs myself. Not every breeder is cruel with their dogs. I believe this war the animal activist have again ALL breeders and ALL pet stores is going to actually END with population of dogs in USA eventually.

I strongly recommend Breeders Pick to anyone than want to get a healthy cute puppy an a affordable price.

Overall
What do Breeders Pick mean?

I got my puppy from Breeders Pick in 2009. The puppy is very healthy. When I visited them in 2009, they were taking care of their puppies very well. Two person was managing the whole store; one assisting customers and one taking care of the dogs. It is one of the better managed pet stores I have seen. It gave me a good impression when I first walked in. However, the conversation about the origin of the puppies was deceiving.

There are many ways for pet stores to obtain their puppies. Most of the animal cruelty information are about puppy mills. Well, there are two type of puppy mills: agricultural USDA license puppy farms (more than 50) and non-licensed puppy farms (commonly referred to breeders). Breeders who operates farm have to be inspected by USDA every couple of years and if there's any violation, the information maybe accessible online. However, if the breeder is a private or a hobbyist breeder there is no regulation...so the breeder may be a backyard breeder, a shows' breeder, novice breeder and etc. There is no certainty about the condition and the quality of how the puppy came into the world.

My only peeve with Breeders Pick was that when I asked them where did they get their puppies, they said from a breeder. Their answer was general, and when I asked for more specification, they never provided the answer. Most of all, they misspelled the breeder's name when I put a down payment for the puppy. I could not research the breeder's information until I took the puppy and his pedigree home. It turned out that the breeder is an USDA breeder and owns a farm in MO that is capable to raise over 150 dogs.

The puppy I got from Breeders Pick turned out to be a great dog. It had a calm and loving personality, along with the independence nature the comes with the breed. I would have appreciated a more honest communication from the Breeder's Pick about my dog's origin. I had some conflicting feelings that could be spared if Breeder's Pick was not deceiving about where their puppies were from.

Overall
puppy mills...

We found a cute puppy but as soon as we started to ask the staff questions about him and his parents they were really shady, They wouldn't call the breeders for us and make us feel more comfortable with our purchase. They just said, look at him, he looks healthy. They gave us the name of the breeder and we researched him and come to find out he hasn't been breeding dogs for over a year. We then called Breeders Pick and they had nothing to say and never returned our call. We are not saying they don't have cute dogs, but we don't support puppy mills!
