Workers Compensation
The IRS states: “The following payments are not taxable...Workers compensation for an occupational sickness or injury if paid under a workers’ compensation act or similar law.”
Wrongful Termination
Claims that are not mainly about the injury: In cases of wrongful termination violations of employment law (discrimination, harassment, etc.), the case does not fall under L&I’s purview.
