Grandstand Burgers

One of THE best bugers, tots and malts I've ever had. I just found out about it in March and I've been more times than I can count. I was a diehard 5 guys fan before as my daughter worked there for 5 years! #holydeliciousness

Don't let this hole in the wall burger stand fool you. This place produces some great burgers. I wouldn't go as far as saying 'the best burgers in Kansas City', but there's no doubt its the best in Merriam. These huge 1/3 lb. man-patties will have your taste buds screaming uncle!, as will your cholesterol levels. I haven't seen this much beef since the release of Mark Walberg's 1997 film 'Boogie Nights'. Try to avoid the twelve o'clock rush, as the limited space available inside could leave you standing shoulder to shoulder with sweaty roofers and the local lobstermen.

If you're in need of a good colon cleansing or just need a little grease to slick your hair back, don't miss this little hot spot.

Do you have a case of the restaurant doldrums? I have the grease, I mean place to solve that! You know you've found a diamond in the rough when you find a restaurant where each person that enters has a name embroidered on their shirt and lots of random stains. Low overhead both with what appeared to be family employees and a ceiling literally that was low and barely above your head.



This reformed singlewide trailer is one of the best eats that shawnee/merriam has to offer. Don't be turned off by the reflective tint on the front windows, or by the fact that you couldn't park a full size truck inside... What this place lacks in luster and comfortable atmosphere it makes up with grease. Americana and a few college pride knick-knacks are strewn inside a small yet efficient setup. 3 people on the grill and one on the register, this place turns out some top-notch burgers. I ate outside on the picnic table for fear that someone would mistake the restaurant for a mobile home and drive off with us inside.



I had a double very tasty double cheeseburger and tots (I ordered a little too quickly before realizing the patties were each 1/3 lb). These beef patties which appeared to be hand formed, not frozen were fried up on an open top grill to perfection. Once the grease hit my lips I found myself entering an intoxicating state of which I'm sure will shorten my lifespan by a few weeks. Needless to say 5700 calories (or more) later I found my self stuffed! Be prepared to eat in the car, or hope for good weather since there are only 3 bar stool seats inside, and a few patio tables outside.



I will be going back again soon to try their tenderloin as the smaller or greasier the place the better the tenderloins usually end up being.



I give it 4.5 tater tots out of 5. I would have gone a 5 had the prices been a tad less (especially for their milkshakes) or if they had more ample indoor seating.

this is the best burger you will find in all of kansas i promise you. they use quality ingredients and high quality beef and it is all in the taste.

I drove by this place every day on the way home from work, and I could smell it, but, I alwasy got there just after they closed. One day on a Saturday, I tried it out. I'm not from this area, but just moved here, so I wanted to try out some of the local fare. I was rewarded with a perfectly cooked, juicy burger, with all the toppings, tots and a coke. I have tried a few other places in the area, and nothing else comes close! I don't know how long they have been there, but, I plan to come back as often as I can. I just wish they had a little longer hours during the week. I get off a little later (7:00 pm) and they close at 7:00.

These guys have fabulous burgers, fries and chocolate malts. I have sent lots of people there and everyone gets hooked.
