La Cabana Mexican Restaurant

My family and I eat here about 1 or 2 times a month, since it is near our home. They completely refurbished this restaurant last year. It is comfortably casual and has a nice "Rustic Texas" sort of atmosphere, with brand new dark wood grain booths and wrought iron Lone Stars of all sizes decorating the walls. We ate here when they first reopened and had a bad experience after ordering our entrees with an hour and 20-minute wait to receive our food. So we waited about 2 months before trying them again and it was very good. The food is moderately priced. It's not the cheapest in our area, but well priced for this type of neighborhood family oriented place. It is apparent with the attention to service now, that they are making a concerted effort to gain your repeat business. The food has been for the most part good, every time we have been there since that first visit. The chips and have been fresh and the salsa tasty with cilantro as an ingredient, like good salsa should have. (I'm prejudiced, because I love cilantro!) We took my parents to eat while they were visiting one night and ordered the table side Guacamole. Honestly it’s not the best I have ever had (too much lime, so you might want to ask for “just a little lime juice please”), but the waitress was so friendly and engaging and making jokes with my parents, my husband and I, that it made the night quite a fun experience. Both of my parents remarked about how fun it was and I was grateful that she went that extra mile.

We will continue to eat there and bring various friends and family members with us to enjoy the food, atmosphere and have an overall pleasant and relaxed time.
