Wellington Place

Last weekend, I was blessed with the opportunity to marry my best friend. As someone who is very detail oriented, I was looking for a venue that would take the pressure off attempting to attend to those things in the middle of the reception. Wellington Place went above and beyond all expectations my husband and I had. We visited other venues prior to Wellington and were unimpressed by "here's the keys to the building, the rest is up to you" attitude at other similar venues. Wellington took the pressure off that task. We received several compliments on the quality of the food and service provided at our reception, which included 300 guests. Both Ryan and Andrea were integral parts of our special day and accommodated to each request I had. Our wedding day was stress free and we were truly able to enjoy our reception. I have been involved in several weddings in the past few years and lived in Springfield my whole life. If you are looking for real customer service, you will not find better in Springfield!

We booked Wellington Place for our wedding reception over a year in advance. When we booked it Scott was great and suggested we do our tasting 6 months before the wedding. That is when the problems started. We showed up for the tasting and they had forgotten to make most of the food we wanted to try. They were able to "reheat" what we did want to try but of the ten or so items that we tried only the chicken was half way edible. We left unimpressed and physically ill. When I called back and talked to Ryan about how poor our food was he was understanding. When I told him it made all of us physically ill he said "its been going around".(I guess food poisoning is common for them?) We were willing to give them a second chance. I scheduled a second tasting that we wanted to bring my fiance's parents, brother and sister in law to. I selected another 10 or so items to try because the first one were not worth eating. They called me back and said the tasting were a courtesy and normally they don't a second tasting. They offered to only let me and my fiance come and offered a salad, two main course and one side. The stress of dealing with them was not worth it, I canceled immediately. . For $23 a plate I did not want to give my guest food poisoning. They have no effort to fix the situation and make things right, I was very disappointed in their lack of concern. I would not recommend them to anyone.
